Anyone run Toyo 888's as their Summer set?
thinking of running them on the Cerb for the trip to Le Mans, has anyone experience of long distance runs...any overheating problems etc?
I have heard that they can be a challenge when hitting standing water and any input would be greatly appreciated...thanks

I think Seasider's running them on his Griff - mayve a search of the Griffith Forum would yield some results?

I have heard very good things about them, & shall be putting them on my Cerb this summer

I was driving an Exige round Donington last Sunday in the wet, it was on 888's & coped admirably thumbup

My mate's also got them on his Tasmin & they're great.

I'm running them on a Sagaris - have been through some of the winter. Damp and wet OK, standing water at above 50mph worrying, snow poor.

Did you have any problems with them on Sunday John?

I run them all year round on my Griff. I don't go out if it's pouring! Otherwise great. They rumble at high speeds so this might irriate you on a long trip like Le Mans.

I had them on my Tuscan S6 last year - lasted three track days and circa 3000 miles, which is all I got out of Bridgestone SO2s. I thought they were cheap and excellent, but perhaps a bit pointless for a motorway trip to Le Mans? You not interested in doing the CerbRing trip?

I'll probably have my T1R's on for LeMans dont really see the point in leaving 800 odd miles worth of R888 rubber on French tarmac

I use them on the front and SO2s on the rear... works well, but they don't do standing water as has been said. Lasting ok too.

I have 888's on my SEAC.

Used them for the trip down to Le Mans last year .. there was torrential rain ..
they seemed to grip well .. but knowing how much rain was under they - I was very nervous above 70 mph on really wet motor way - 80 was OK on just 'wet' motorway..

Grip is fantastic.

Sidewalls are very stiff - so ride is poor but grip is immense.

I've done 5K last year and they are still OK...

I was going to but unfortunatly it clashes with other commitments.

Thanks for the info chaps, looks like I'll try a set of 888's, now who's offering them at a decent price? and anyone know the best sizes for a Cerb. Running RL7's?

have them fitted to my griff 500, did 2000 miles on swiss alps tvr power tour last sept and they are amazing, in the dry simply awesome, you can accelerate out of corners far earlier and change direction like a go kart, damp surfaces no problem so long as you have some heat iin the tyres just be be wary of standing water as i have some aqua planeing moments. if you only use them for summer you will love them. Have done a very wet track day at mallory and so long as you avoid the puddles and got them warm they were ok then became simply awesome as track began to dry. enjoy them.

moi, je suis uue pussy hehe
Just a shame it's not Classic year and I can get on the track again. If they grip as good as you guys state, may I suggest that someone provides Jagdp (this years co-pilot) with some elastic bands to put around his ankles evil

Well had them fitted yesterday to my spare set of wheels. WOW! Fluck a duck! What a difference they make, it's like theres glue on all four tyres. The difference is instantly noticeable. I've been using eagle F1's and theres no comparison. All is left to say is buy some and enjoy, you wont look back.

Can I ask where you got them from & how reasonable is the cost compared to others? I am thinking of some for the Cerb in the next few weeks
