I bought my 97 Chim from Fernies 3 years ago and they have serviced it since (annual servicies only) but it is a 1½ hour drive each way from near Hastings and a bit of a drag. I don't have a problem with using them apart from the mucking up of a working day.

Dream Machines are only 20 mins away but want £500 against Fernies £332 and that doesn't offset the travelling costs really.

My other option that suits my current business travelling is Austec's but I don't know how they compare. Pricewise it seems the same as Fernies but I haven't checked about a loan car yet.

Can anyone help with advice on comparative qualities of service or suggest any other options in the East Sussex area.

I've stuck with Fernies anyway - which is probably what I really wanted to.
My wife and I have decided to have the day of and make it worth doing.

There's a garage in Battle which always has an interesting selection of cars - often a TVR or two. Can't remember the name, but it's right on the High Street. Might be worth looking into.

Hi Griffter

It's Vicarys and they are only 5 minutes from me but are a more general 'interesting' car dealer. They were originally a Rover agent but always with a healthy interest in specialist cars.
They have had the odd TVR in there but they don't sell to quickly. There was a yellow Chim 500 that looked good but was in for ages.

Nutley Sports & Prestige also stock TVRs but, again, they have more of a spread and have never had a mention for servicing.

As above, I have decidied to stick with who I know and who Knows the car and have a day off instead - the glory of being self employed!!

Chris Baldock James motor Sports just W off canterbury is an excellent TVR man (ex Waldonway), charges about 1/2 price of a dealer, and you deal with the man doing the work.
Several good reccomendations on here from various people
