TVR windscreen anyone?
Discussion
Just finished having a conversation with softly spoken man up-north who assures me that TVR windscreens are available from his company. The only um and ah I got from him was when I mentioned Chimaeras.
He diplomatically kept tight-lipped about who is making them, but seemed quietly confident that the glass he has is free of all the quality issues that other manufacturers had.
Other than that, my man is good to go. (so he tells me).

I believe that all windscreen were made by Saint Gobain in Finland, however they can be made for anyone as long as the TVR motif is not included.

Price for a wedge screen please.
Understand that there is a good source in the UK (don't know what will happen when I need a screen in Belgium dough...) for wedge screens. As the flat screens for a wedge are probably not to difficult to make, compared to the others in the TVR range. If you do a search on the wedge forum you probably find the details.

How much for a pre-2000 Cerb screen? I don't need one but if the price is reasonable it seems like a useful thing to buy and store for a "just in case" moment.
Just about everything else on the car I can source or make myself.

Same, need a pre 2000 screen, dependant on price, we would possibly be wiling to buy and store as above, or just get autoglass to buy one through your guy to fit soon.
We have been involved with supplying and fitting screens for TVRs in the South of England for some while. We normally stock screens for all models up to and including Griffith and Chimaera. We have Tasmin door drop glasses in stock and also the top and side trim for the Griffith. Both of these were remanufactured for us. Next will be door drop glasses for the Griffith.
Cerbera screens are currently a problem as the factory in Finland would not supply anyone else but TVR (with or without TVR logo), now presumably TVR Power. The factory is owned by Saint Gobain but appears to have it's own set of rules and calendar. Their lead time of three Finnish months seems always to stretch to six or nine normal months. We are customers of Saint Gobain but still cannot get supply from the Finnish factory.
The Tasmin screen is not flat by the way.

Sorry for the anti-climax guys... been quite busy with a few things one of which was arranging the same guy to supply a Berkeley T60 windscreen for an overseas customer.
Ok, I will squeeze this guy for a ('to me') price list for all Tiv screens and will report back as soon as...
Apologies for the delay.
Paul.

Have TVR Power been contacted about this? In my experience of talking to Dom, they are usually slightly more helpful than TVR themselves... Although even still, a six or nine month wait is still annoying.
We do Club orders for specialised screens and would be happy to help out, if anyone has one out of a car, then there are instruction how to make a buck , or our UK agent will take a buck for you. it tales a few to create the new screens but can do in different tints and so on. from that buck we make the mold. We do both laminated and toughened glass.
