I've been considering getting my Griff rolling roaded, out of curiosity and to set a benchmark should I want to do some work on it in the future. I've also noticed that most of the v8 specialists are based in the south of the country. I was therefore wondering whether anyone would be interested if I organised a v8 TVR rolling road day in Yorkshire with someone who has experience of the engine to diagnose any problems. I know of 2 others who would also be interested. I was considering asking either Jools(Joospeed) or Mark Adams (or even better Jools and Mark on Jool's rolling road ) whether they'd be interesting in helping.
Any thoughts?

Darren

As Mark is away for a day or two , i'll mention that we were discussing this last week & he is keen, the best thing is to contact Mark direct 01694 720144, can't speak for joolz but sure he would be "up for it". What a team that would be !!

Tim,

I dropped Mark a mail a couple of days ago, and Jools one this morning, I'll try and speak to them both once I've gauged the demand. I'd be interested to know how many cars/hours dyno time would be required to justify the trip for Mark, but I suppose only he can answer that! There's 3 cars so far, but I'm surprised there hasn't been any more interest on here - given the geographical split! Must be the Yorkshire tight wallet syndrome

4 cars is probably a comfortable amount, as you say let Mark decide, he will probably be posting here in a day or two, if word gets around he'll need to find a Yorkshire bed and breakfast for week !!

I'd love to, but don't think there's much point with a completely standard baby chim.

Might walk down from work for a nosey though.

Yes there is, get one of Mark's Tornado chips in it. My std 4.0L went from 207hp and 228lbft (pretty good std 4.0L) to 241hp and 245lbft (brilliant std 4.0L) and is much smoother too.

Also interested. It all depends which day you arange it for as I work continental shifts and have used up all my holidays already. Suposed to be on a budget this year but have already ordered some Nitrons and a full bush kit from Joolz. Hoping to get them fitted before Zolder so would also be interested in a Tornado chip and Marks expertese. In for a penny in for over a thousand pounds. I may even get within 5 seconds of the Green V8S on the fastest lap.

Well, mine included, that's 4-5 cars which is enough for a day. As I said, I'll try and get hold of Mark when he's back and see how much he'd like to stay in Yorkshire. I'm sure a quick mail to the Yorkshire TVR club RO's would have him practically living here for a few months!
As for location and exact dates, I'm easy so it'll depend on the interested parties and obviously Mark himself. To be worthwhile it would be better to use a RR with a local source of bits and TVR knowledge to diagnose simpler problems before Mark does his thing.
Joospeed (Sheffield-ish) would be ideal, it's a bit of treck for me but would be superb if they can spare the time.
I think its best leaving it open for now, and if interested parties could drop me a mail (through my profile) then I'll arrange the most suitable time/location once I've spoken to Mark. Obviously any suggestions for good local rolling roads would be appreciated.

Darren.

Depending on when it is I'd very much be up for this.
Anybody got any idea what sort of magic Jools and Mark could work on my wedge?
