I dont see it as a good thing!

further investigation found this

www.patent.gov.uk/tm/t-find/t-find-prop

enter TVR into the prorietor field, and then follow the blackpool automotive link and it looks like the "TVR" trade mark was assigned to a company in Liechtenstein on the 21st February 2 days after they applied for the TVR Italia trademark....basically the TVR trademark is no longer in Britain

check this one out

Strangely, everyone seems to have missed this news, except for "Classic Cars" magazine. The May issue out today (31/3/07) has this story on page 18 but no news about our 2 American friends taking over. I saw it this morning and was wondering if it was for real.

Oliver.

The Liechtenstein company that now has the TVR trademark is rather interesting:

List of goods and/or services

Class 09:
Computer games programs; video games programs; interactive games software; entertainment software; leisure software; electronic games pre-recorded on CDs, DVDs, disks and other data carriers; digital games provided by means of local computer networks, global computer networks, the Internet, cable and wire communications services, wireless telecommunications services and broadband telecommunications services.

Class 11:
Apparatus for lighting; lamps; torches.

Class 25:
Clothing; footwear; headgear.

Class 41:
Electronic games services; telephone games services; provision of digital games by means of local computer networks, global computer networks, the Internet, cable and wire communications services, wireless telecommunications services and broadband telecommunications services.

So, nothing whatsoever to do with cars then confused

St Nic still has some employees on the book, indeed several ppl who others thought were TVR employees were not, they were on St. Nic's books. Of those still on his books, that I know of, they are IT/electronics bods.

Probably this lot: 'TeleVisiun Rumantscha'.
TV stations would be covered by those references.

Wasn't TVR just a big toy for NS?

No, it's a company called Muadib Stiftung who don't even have a website.

Here's the assignment of the TVR trademark from Blackpool Automotive to Muadib Stiftung:

www.ipo.gov.uk/tm/t-find/t-find-number?detailsrequested=H&trademark=2343460

And the current status:

Muad'Dib (or something like that) is a character from a sci-fi novel/movie (Dune?) IIRC, and 'Stiftung' is German for 'Foundation'.

Not that any of it brings us much further, but anyway...

MUADIB BETEILIGUNG GMBH is the ultimate owner of TVR by the following connections:

MUADIB BETEILIGUNG GMBH
|
|-TVR MOTORS COMPANY LTD
|
|-BLACKPOOL AUTOMOTIVE LTD (*old info, of course*)
|
|-TVR CARS DISTRIBUTION LTD
| |
| |-TVR DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT LTD
| |-DOMS POWER LTD
|
|-SILICATE SYSTEMS LTD

So we seem to be collecting a small family of MUADIBs... Muadib is a character from Dune...

So does NS see himself as a God?
http://dune2k.com/Community/Articles/ :-
"There are a variety of political and religious concepts throughout the Dune novels that varies so much through the novels which makes it a complex and cogitative science fiction series. The Dune novels are popular with many fans and partly this is due because of its political and religious structures. This essay will be focussing primarily on the first four Dune novels written by Frank Herbert.

In the first novel, the Qizarate is composed of missionaries and is a religious body that carries Muad'dib's religion across the universe (Herbert Dune Messiah 8). Muad'dib is a character in three of the Dune novels and originally was named Paul Atreides who was heir to the Atreides throne of power. After living on a planet called Arrakis also known as Dune, the Fremen renamed him Muad'dib after they accepted him into their society. The Fremen are native people that had lived on Arrakis for a long time but were never political or religious leaders of the planet as they were mostly detached from off world influence. The Qizarate maintains control of the planets it occupies with Muad'dib's religion. The population of the universe see Muad'dib as their god whether they like it or not and they can not deny his power religiously."

You've kinda lost the thread here boys, my initial point was the TVR trademark has been moved abroad ie. no longer British!! and NS has got away with doing it without any kind of announcement or press coverage, just a thread on PH thats now descending into a discussion about dune films!
