Used to run Chimaera on Bridgestones, then changed to Toyos - no problem. Now have them on the Cerbera - great. Certainly most people I know have them on their TVRs. Not a very comprehensive reply, sorry! But positive!

Very pleased with the Toyos on the back of mine. So mush so I'm putting them on the front.

I went from Toyos (which frightened me once or twice in the rain) to Goodyear Eagle F1s (at first just the back, since lat week all round )

I, personally, prefer the F1s

ETA: Paid £120 a corner fitted, after quoting my local chap the mytyres.co.uk price excl fitting (but forgot to mention the fitting price )

Those with the Toyos - what pressures do you use?

Had mine for about 3k miles (Chimaera - standard wheels) and not convinced - the back end seems very slidey around corners.

This question keeps popping up of late!

I've got toyos (T1-R) both front and rear, and have previously had a set of the Toyo T1-S on the front, too. This was when the SO2s wore out a few years ago.

Basically I've been very pleased with them. They are pretty soft (though I don't know how they compare to the F1, for example) but the upside is increased grip. I've found the wet weather grip to be excellent, too, even when the fronts were (ahem) coming up for replacement (as best as I can remember, the wet grip is better than the SO2 was).

I've started to run the pressures slightly higher these days (~26F/28R) and that feels much better than the quoted pressures for the SO2 from the book. This is on a 17" cerb, btw.

I've used Toyo and Bridgestone on several of my TVR's and all have been excellent.

Goodyear eagle F1 GSD have always had good reviews here too..

But I've never heard of anyone putting Michelins on a TVR .. perhaps they are made for heavier cars and so do not get up to temp for a TVR.. compound too hard.. perhaps.

I had the Michelins on my previous Audi. Good tyre IIRC but maybe Rev is right re: a heavier car etc?

Toyos on my Chim 500 and previous 400, no problems whatsoever.

Oh, 26 psi all round does it for me.

Toyo T1R should be approx 2psi up on th book figures as they have a softer sidewall - run 24 front, 26 rear on the Griff which is a daily driver and the tyres offer excellent grip in the dry and wet - those who are having issues should see what is wrong as something is. They do take a good few warming cycles to get settled so take it easy the first couple of hundred miles.

Seems a lot better at 24 / 26 - thanks everyone.

Will see how it handles on the track tomorrow
