Now I have fin ally got my Chim, I want to start adding the leven bits.

First off will be stalks, fan switch, handbrake and light switches (P reg, BTW).

My question is, how easy are all these to do? Are there any problems I can expect to encounter?

I am also a bit clumsy, is this a good job for me to undertake? THe leven catalogue says they are easy enough to do.

Thanks and cheers
Mike

All very easy, but you will need to make sure you hacksaw the old stalks off in the right place! ie not too short.

Seriously though the instructions that come with are good.

All dead easy to fit - and tools supplied. If you do get into any bother Leven are very helpful I'm told, but you shouldn't have any trouble.

stalks and hanbrakes are really straightforward. If you screw them up, you should consider removing all the sharp things from your house and not filling the bath to full

I've done all these on my Griff and it's very straightforward, the instructions are very good.

The stalks whilst not difficult was a little un-nerving, as you have to saw off the old one's and the dash buttons (are they the same on Chim) were tricky to remove but with patience I soon got the knack.

The handbrake was fitted and removed a few times to get the button to look right, but not a problem, again take care, don't rush and against all instinct read the instructions.

Cheers,

Simon.

I fitted the Leven handbrake and the alloys pedals to my Cerbera, bought from the TVRCC.

Generally striaghtforward to do - just found that:

1. Handbrake - The only bit of my Cerbera 'Guaranteed Tough' is the old handbrake fixing. It took a lot of effort to brake the seal of the glue, even using locking pliers, etc. Very satisifying feeling when after an hour of hard screwing side to side it finally came off - ffffnarr fnnarr! To fit the new one took 5 minutes - only problem was the old washer (cotton?) has to be used as the one supplied by Leven (metal) kept getting stuck - just depends on the model and year (month!) I think. The new handbrake looks stunning and is well worth it.

2. Pedals - a bit unnerving at first as with the ones I went for, you have to drill each hole into your very very precious machine (lots of padding of fibreglass required and some good clamps). Just took my time, broke my back and feel again the effort (a couple of hours) was well worth it. When stuck in heavy traffic and having to use the clutch a lot, find these new pedals don’t seem to kill my left foot as much - and they look good too!

Cheers,
Tommo

You're talking to Mr Wankhands himself here and I can confirm that they are a doddle. I just resolved to take plenty of time especially with any bits that needed glue eg the window winder switches.

The handbrake was the hardest bit but only because it's a struggle to get the button bit off (it's a tight fit)

I've fitted the lot to two Griffs now and there have been no issues at all...

Cheers

Mike, would strongly reccomend you put the replacement pedal set at the top of the list. The standard pedals cause me serious foot ache in traffic (clutch) and being able to adjust all three to suit improves the driving experiance enourmously (IMO of course!).

How about aluminium effect heater controls for early Chimaera models instead of black?

Is Leven still a 'thing'?...I did google it but could find no link...particularly interested in indicator stalks and something to stop the gear lever sleeve falling down?

Amore Autos have a few alloy items, apparently made by Autobarn. I'm not sure there was ever anything to prevent the gearstick gaiter sliding down.
