Some young lad didn't see me behind a jeep and turned right in front of me in Golf, luckily I was only doing 15-20 mph
At least he is insured, even if only for 3 weeks!
Lets hope I dont miss all the nice weather.

Surely if there is no doubt that it is his fault then his insurance company should provide you with a loan car of similar type whilst yours is repaired?

Glad you're OK and its only bodywork andf other bits that can be repaired, still a pcensoreder though.

You might need to fight your corner if you don't use one of the insurance companies preferred repair centres. They won't have a fibre glass specialist on their list, and you are under no obligation to use anybody they suggest but be careful on the loan car bit....

They are also getting keen to write tiv's off even for minor damage due to availability of parts !!!! but you can get just about everything. so hang in there.... I'd insist on it being repaired at one of the tvr specialists, an advantage there being a lot of them now do their own panels so supply isnt as much of a problem...

Just beacuse that's all they have you are not under any obligation to accept it. I'd be temted to go back and CALMLY explain that its hardly the same thing and give them a list of comparable cars which they can hire for you from... and give them a list of places they can hire them from.

As soemone says above, be careful and be 100% sure the other insurance company accept liability before taking the loan car.

I wouldn't accept a Saab convertible. When my Chim was scratched in a car park, I was given a BMW 630i with M power. Quite fun for a couple of weeks although I was glad to give it back and get back in the Chim. The company the third parties insurance used were accident exchange. Good luck.

Take care with accepting loan cars if you have the use of another car.
Went through the same problem last June.Despite mine being a weekend car and insured for leisure use the fact that I had my BMW meant no loan (TVRs often 2nd or 3rd cars).
Also the girl that ran into me failed to fill in any insurance forms despite admitting liability in front of a witness.Consequently her insurers would not admit liability and I would have been liable for hire car costs. All in all a bit of a nightmare that has only just beeen resolved after a threatened court appearance!!!!!
For future reference I would always call the police for a crime number even if no one has been injured.I`m sure she would have played ball if the law were involved.
Be careful as even respectable people seem to lose their morals when car accidents occur.
ps Option 1 repaired the Griff immaculately !
