Was driving on the A3 at about 5 today when I saw the above heading the other way, looks like they were unfinished body shells from the factory!!!!!
this means either someone has been up to Blackpool and bought some of the 'clearance sale' bits, or could it be anything to do with the new regime?

From what I know I don't think there were any 'unfinished' body shells left at the factory. The only things left regarding saggy 'shells' were unfinished cars sat in the factory, a couple of flawed/broken shells dumped in the grounds, and also some painted shells (made from the original 'open vent' cast) NS was going to use for the Saggy racing team (that never happened!), also dumped out back. Unfortunately the racing shells were also left in a poor state of repair, so were pretty much useless too.

Were the shells you saw painted or unpainted?

Best guess is they were off to be made into racing bodys.

Could be GTF body shells, I hope so, that would mean the business is taking off.

Or maybe they had just been produced at Bertone in Italy and were being transported back to blighty for assembly idea

I may be wrong but it's a bit soon for that don't you think?

Also transporting them around in 2's is not exactly an economical way of doing things, especially if the company are trying to keep to a minimual budget.

They could be prototypes - first out of the mould .. sent back to UK to ensure it fits chassis and that fit and finish is OK..

Why would it be to soon .. the company is not selling cars and needs to ASAP ..

I guess the key question is was the truck traveling north or south on the A3 ?

Surely, if they had come from Bertone they would be on an Italian registered flatbed and on the M20. In any case, weren't Bertone down to the do the final assembly as well. Depends which rumour you listen to I suppose

They were coloured, one orange and the other blue I think, not sure if that was paint or gel coat though, only got a fleeting glimpse!

Both those colour shells in paint and part build were on chassis without engines in the factory on 7/3/07 as were about seven more other sags (the blue one was LHD). If thats any help

The orange one could be mine (if its Arancio) it has been sat in the factory (or somewhere) since last November and from looking at the past photo's posted on here it was the only orange one there at the time of the factory closure.

I have been chasing for a delivery date (now supposedly June) and maybe there is some movement at long last!

If anyone out there has any SOLID information I would be grateful.....

These are far more likely to be the painted shells built for the race series, of which a few are out there kicking about.

There is a picture of a whole load of painted unused body shells on the TVRCC site, I'd hope they weren't for production cars if I was waiting for one

As said above they were probably for the PW plan to evolve the Tuscan Challenge series.

there were no shells built for the race series, the painted shells that were in the compound were shells made when pw still owned tvr and were made out of lightweight materials, as that was what pw wanted all sagaris to be built out of, but it didnt work, the bodys were crap and that is why they were basicly scrapped and all other sags made with the usual stuff
