try getting spares it's murder. mine is now off the road for 3 months, and still no sign of getting back on the road

What spares are you waiting for?
Let me guess ., a clutch..
No, I think I recall him saying it was a problem with the fuel tank or something.

yes spot on they took the fuel sender out of the tank and need the clips to put it back into the fuel tank, probably cost pennies but 3 months later result is still the same,no TVR on the road.
Do you not know a design engineer who can resolve this problem with a practcal solution
I am sure we have plenty of them on hear who will be able to help you out

Recently had a total clutch & slave cylinder replacement at SP with Clevor Trevor parts...no supply problems at all. I wouldn't fancy trying to get a new windscreen at the moment though!
Windscreens galore here.

patients, well it's not easy I can tell you. The amount of Porsche's that I 've seen just needingto be whiipped is unbelievable. The garage are trying to sort something out but the breakers yards are asking £250 for just apetrol tank so they are becoming very expensive parts. I'm sure the answer wil be soon, maybe the parts supplier for TVR will pull his finger out and supply them!!!!

Can't you get them made / fabricated ?
That was my point, i would have had them made independantly

Sidebar snippet in this month's EVO has revealed Bertone is on the ropes and may close its doors at the end of July. "Any hopes of TVRs being built by Bertone are fading fast".
What with all the rumours of the Yanks being con artists and the Rusky has GTF'd. Sadly Phil I think its fat chance ANY TVR's will be built for a very long time to come. Suffice to say I think the defeatists have won this one.
TVR RIP

Opinions of TVR under Smolenski were never "defeatist". Smolenski had some good ideas but didn't have a clue how to execute any of them and enamoured himself to nobody. In the meantime the business imploded in a tragic farce.
I think it's more the case that the optimists were defeated which, however inevitable, is a great shame and a substantial loss. That kind of goodwill is priceless and I doubt it will ever return to TVR in such great quantities. It was YEARS before Peter Wheeler had earned the reverence and hero worship that propelled TVR forward from the Griffith. Smolenski had a 12 month window post-purchase to turn TVR around and reclaim the goodwill that was on the wane when he acquired the company. He blew that opportunity and once blown it was/is never coming back while he is anywhere near TVR.
ETA: If you have back issues of magazines from the turn of the millennium, the strength of TVR at that time is quite extraordinary to read about. With TVR's second engine just hitting the market (the Speed Six) and with hints that a V12 monster car was about to arrive, TVR was cited as a threat to Lamborghini and a reason for the recently-acquired-by-Audi Lamborghini to pull their finger out with the six litre Diablo and a successor! TVR was written about as a force to be reckoned with.
