Had my '04 Tuscan in the air today to discuss whether I needed new shocks or not.
The springs had settled to such an extent that there was very little travel left and presumably a lot of the impact was being taken by the bump stops, this had in turn transmitted upto the top wishbone which had fractured so much that one side was completely detached from the main structure while the other had a stress crack half way along it. If I could post pictures I would but I can't, it scared the life out of me considering what could have happened.
On close inspection the welded joints are quite sub standard. This was confirmed by a well known suspension supplier who apparently knows of other instances of this happening.
Thought I'd make you all aware of this as I'd not heard of failures like this before.
Thanks Matt of Sebring for all your help in getting me on the road again so quickly- top job.

PS. Yes new suspension ordered!

Very scary - but at least it was found. Matt, as you probably know, is as honest as they come and I wouldn't trust my Chim to anyone else now. Friend of mine had Gaz shocks fitted to his Tuscan S by Matt a month or so ago and says they've transformed the handling - something I can back up from the difference Matt made to mine doing the same a couple of weeks ago.
