Those pics provide a good incentive to have the rubber fuel lines in the engine bay replaced when the lump goes back in! eek

Why?
Why do TVR's suddenly burst into flames?
Should we all be getting our fuel lines replaced after 10 years?

Surely, these are the questions!

Yes Alan, get them checked, i did just in the nick of time ! As they started to change mine the copper pipe let go yikes it was rubbing on chassis over time and it wore the pipe down.

I cant beleive people are considering repairing it. New panels, new engine, crap loads of extra bits, full interior, respray, wheels and tyres and god knows what else. Ya can pick up a good 450 for a whole lot less. And it would'nt be registered. Makes ya wonder.
I'd buy it for the chasis only, and theres a chance that shagged.

I'd also have considered taking a punt on it for the chassis, and that could be heat damaged, but its gone too high to risk just for the chassis.

I had to replace the fuel lines on my 96 chim 3 years ago when they split !!!

I doubt that it would be a viable restorer...its completely shagged!

As sad as it sounds, anything with that amount of fire damage, I wouldnt touch with a barge pole and Im the king of buying hopeless cases yes

It might be worth saving this car - after all, according to the info panel it is possibly the only Chimaera in existence to have ABS brakes.

Great shame to see the car toasted. There is no way that car is not a write off, given that the definition of same is "beyond economic repair" and I think that fits the bill here. eek
