Just spoken to Dom (top guy), he wishes they wouldn't put people through to him. He was very honest and open, so it looks like I'll be paying for the work. Hey ho 24,000 thousand miles and 1 year old isn't bad going I guess.

I was told this morning by a dealer that the unofficial (ie true) line from TVR is that warranties dont exist. If your car is only 1 year old I would suggest you seek recompence from your dealer (if he is still in business).

Let's see why 2009 - oh yes then all the three years warranties will have lapsed - last new TVRs in 2006 - just have to keep on lying and feeding Bovine Excrement to good ole Derek and his like until then.

A few weeks ago I called TVR with a question about upholstery material and they even put me through to TVR Power for that one!

Regarding the warranty I have made many attempts to get in touch with David Oxley and he finally got back to me last month. Not in response to my calls and emails, but in response to a post by me on this forum!

His email was vague, to say the least: "I'm sure you appreciate that the company has been going through a transitional period, but things are looking extremely positive for the future of the marque. It would be inappropriate, however, for me to comment to you privately on recent developments before they're announced officially, but please rest assured that the matters of warranties and parts, and of new car orders, are all fully in hand."

Fully in hand, what does that mean?

When I replied to Oxley's email (and suggested that he'd start communicating with other TVR owners as well) things went quiet again. This could be because he thinks that having customers is too much of a hassle. Another more worrying possibility though, is that the lack of communication is because he has no idea what will happen next...

Judging by the other posts here, I'd say "fully in hand" in the sense that they have their policy of shirking their responsibilities fully in hand.

Let's face it, any warranty that isn't underwritten by an insurance policy is only worth the paper it's written on if the issuer honours it.

it really is a sad state of affairs with still no news about warranties and deposits. I was sort of hoping we were both wrong and would end up eating our words. It doesn't look like thats going to happen.

No. It's not.

And to be honest UB it makes me a little angry. We had to read that absolute piffle in Sprint, had to read that all that had gone before was dross when in fact we knew what we were reading then was a fairy tale. It makes me angry and also a little sad because I think it makes the club look ridiculous.
