I was a lot less than happy at paying 110.4p per litre for V-Power yesterday in Preston. Before I have rant at owner of petrol station (no obvious display of price ...etc), what are you paying? Last time I'm sure it was 2 to 3 p per litre more than "normal" juice?

I'm in Essex, and V-Power is about 99p ish. Apparently fuel in South Essex is one of the cheapest areas in the country... not sure why exactly, might be because there are refinerys close by!

So - after ringing garage, and speaking to complete inumerate (muppet) - turns out that price should have been 101.9p per litre, and if I nip down in next 20 mins I will get refund! (Said person had no grasp for numbers at all!)
Conclusion - PistonHeads saves me, what - all of 3 quid!!
Another happy ending.

You use BP? isn't that only 97 RON and you should be using 98?

All TVRs are capable of running on 95 RON (legal requirement), however, if you have fuelling issues (such as I had in my Chim 500 which would pink under any load before Mark Adams had his wicked way with it!) then 97 or 98 will help to alleviate these issues. Unfortunately, the ECU that TVR fit cannot make best use of the extra octane (unlike Scoobies etc) so if it runs fine on 95, money spent on 98 is wasted.

Don't know if its our garage that graham meant (Shell at Cellarhead) but we're currently selling V-Power at 98.9ppl. Shell recommends that garages sell V-power at 7ppl more than normal un-leaded, as its a "premium grade", but as I'm also a self-confessed petrolhead we sell it at the same margin as normal un-leaded.

Erm - no that's not true. SP6 crs maybe but my AJP8 demands superunleaded. It has a sticker by the filler cap and it's specifically mentioned in the owners manual

Are you sure about that? I was told to always run my Chimaera 500 on Super Unleaded which is what I have done for the past 5+ years (ie. for the whole of the time I've owned the car).

I normally try to use V-Power where possible, but have to say on a number of occassions when i have used ordinary 95 Ron, it dosen`t seem to had made any difference at all. No pinking, loss of performance etc.

It used to be 5ppl more when it was Optimax but now it seems to be 7ppl more, I guess to pay for all the advertising.
