help stuck in oxford and cant get home griff o/h

Not a quick solution James I`m afraid
but I drove from Le Man to St Malo two years ago with no fans at all after the motor seized in temperatures of 20 plus even at night!
We landed in Portsmouth at 0700hrs and I drove all the way to Worcestershire without a hitch including one fuel stop.
It was not a problem at all as long as there was sufficient air flow whilst underway - secret though is to wait until midnight or later until the air temp is lower and your not likely to get caught in traffic - if you do then simple turn the engine off as much as possible
If all else fails this will at least get you home
Sorry if this doesnt help but its one possible way of getting out of Oxford!
Good luck

short the two wires together that go to the otter switch.
its at the base of the expension bottle which is the tall bottle that is fed by the top water pipe from the engine.
short these out and the fans should work permanetly.
see if they stay on when you start.
if not, connect them when you have started the engine.
