Hi guys, I'm sure I've read before about people going on trips in their Tiv's and strapping filming equipment onto the roof of the car, so that you can re-live the trip on your PC once at home.

I've got to be honest, I don't know anything about the equipment required to do this so I was hoping someone on here could let me know what I need and where to get it from (bearing in mind it will be used in a TVR!).

I guess some kind of external anti-vibration camera assembly, recording equipment and software/cables to upload it to a PC afterwards.

Please help....

Hello,

Are you set for a relatively big bill then?

These decent cameras and mounts can set you back a fair few quid yikes

But, i think you're after a bulle cam, and a suction mount, the suction mount is similiar to a tripod, bit it has suction pads.

I'm sure someone with lots of experience will come along and give you an idea.

I've got a "Benk cx-73" camera suction mount (sorry cant remember the company I got it from, and not much comes up on google for it)that fits on my roof or bonnet or boot fine and I attach my Sanyo Xacti C6 to it no bother and can record movies or photos, with hardly any vibration. Cameras ace and goes for around £300 max now I think and the sucker was about £20

It doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg to start getting fairly good footage from on board cameras. If you like it then you can start spending serious money. yes But why spend loads if you don't get on with it?

My Cerb' is now fitted with a bullet cam ALL the time, and it's only about £30 worth.

I'm tired, and half cut at the moment so will post more details in the morning. biggrin

Would def recommend the b-hague stuff combined with a HDD camcorder. That's what I have got.

Apart from my Sony MiniDV decks, all my kit comes from Fast Films.

Go tape (miniDV) for incar use, especially "spirited" incar use. HDD and DVD recorders crap out.
