Ooooh err missus!
Right, following my efforts of installing a new battery, Ive taken some more brave pills and now feel like having a go at sorting out the stone chips (and the gouge on the boot caused by a flying microwave oven
). Those on the Cerb forum know what a ham-fited twonk I am, so;
OK, first off, where to get the touch up stick from online/via the
? I have an old touch up stick that came with the car but its all dried up. Car's colour is Sunset Pearl, will that do or will I need the colour code? (if so, does anyone know it as the car is at home today).
Secondly, as a complete numpty, can someone advise as to the proper way to do this (I tried it years ago on an Escort I had, but it was a complete mess)? I guess its a bit more than just dab paint in the holes? So, over fill the hole, then level it off somehow (am I right something like a carefully applied razor blade?), then what? Polish it? My FiL just bought a touch up kit for his Mondeo from Halfwits and it came with 3 sticks, Im guessing an undercoat, the paint and then some form of sealant over the top?
Dont suppose there's anyone in Sussex/south east who has some deviant persuasion that gets them excited (sexually or otherwise) by 'touching up' PHers cars for the price of a beer and a kebab, who would like to help?

Fubar - how your misses ever puts up with you ...
Touch up Paint - from your TVR dealer.
If it's stone chips - then I would fill the hole (don't get excited here fubes..) with stopper using a razor blade.
Wipe off any excess and add just enough to fill the hole.
Here is a supplier of stopper :

If you are near Ripley this weekend - then I'd be happy to do this for you old chap.

)Cheers rev, but its my daughter's birthday/parties this weekend (why isnt 1 party enough?
)
So I stick this stopper stuff in then whap some touch up paint over the top? Wait for the paint to harden a little and wipe off the excess? Otherwise Id end up wiping away all the paint? What do I do if the paint is a little 'proud'?
I may take you up on the offer another weekend if it all goes to rat shit
Anyone else suggest/have a number for a supplier of the touchup sticks?

I got my touch in paint from Webbs too. Very good service, and recommended.
How deep are the chips? If you take a little time, you can fill with multiple layers of paint until "proud", and then wet sand flat, followed by a machine polish.
Sounds like you've got plenty of volunteers already, but I am happy to help if you need it...

Just fill the hole with stopper usins a razor blade. Let it dry for a few days and then wet sand it you have the bottle.. or just paint over the top.
Much more accurate and a far better job.
