Quick question,

I am getting error code 247 F-RAM failure and the starter will just about turn the engine over, so I'm thinking I have a dead battery. If I disconnect the battery, will the alarm go off?

as long as the car is unlocked when you disconnect battery alarm will not sound, as soon as you re-connect battery the alarm will re-arm and doors will lock, so dont leave keys inside car!! smile

I had that error message when my battery died.
Unfortunately it was well dead too.
After I changed the battery (£70ish) from main dealer, easy to fit 30 minutes.
I still had the F-ram error message.
Bad news is it WAS (I don't know if it still is) a FACTORY reset.
ie HHC wanted to send the ecu back to factory.
Sod that, I rang Heath & he said it was safe to drive & they could reset while I waited.
Ring me for the good news smile

Hope you have good luck resetting it m8

Hi Chris,
I've checked the 100 amp fuse under the air box and the one in the passenger footwell. Did a continuity test across the bolts holding the fuses in place and they passed, so I assume they are ok!
Disconnected the battery terminals and checked the voltage at the battery, it was 12.2 volts. However, when I connected the battery back up and switched the ignition on (and got the F-RAM error again) the voltage read as 9 volts. So I'm a bit baffled.
I'm going to call the AA out tomorrow morning, as I have just taken out a warranty, so if its not the battery, I should get them to pay for the fix, (assuming its something like the Alternator).
Regarding the ECU reset thing, Who's Heath? Was he at TVR Blackpool?

You can find Heath Briggs's contact details halfway down here, as well as Paul Forrest.
