where to get my Griff serviced?

I need to get a service and a general health check on my newly purchased 92 griff. I've used Fernhurst before for my last Chimaera and also Tower View, however is there any one else you guys can recommend? I have read good comments in the past about a chap out Reading way, Thames Valley Racing???? Chap called Steve??? Any one got a number for them?

I'm looking for an independant rather that Dealer to hopefully keep the cost down.

I used Topcats (near Aylesbury - 01296 655003/07850 698700) recently for some work on my Cerbera, and recommend them highly. Do a search on the threads on here.

Havent got round to (yet) trying Thames Valley Racetech or Steve Howard, but may try them in the future as they are close to my work. The number I have for Steve Howard is 07732 863 625.

I can recommend TopCats Racing without hesitation. Normally less of a waiting list than David Batty (who is also very good).

Steve Howard has started up Precision Racing (back at the Stud Farm in Hurst for those that know it). He can be contacted on 0118 903 4909.

Steve's only problem is that he is abit disorganised. He is so willing to help people that he will look at your car until late into the evening (he often works past 10pm).

He also looks after 3 Tuscan race cars (soon to be four) and helps with other racing so can be really pushed some weeks (like this week with all 3 cars needing repairs after Silverstone and only one week between races).

Steve Howard, without a doubt. Knows everything there is to know about TVRs and all round diamond geezer.

Will put himself out to help anyone. He fixed a Cerb last week for someone after pub closing time. My ex GF went in to see him one lunchtime with an overheating Freelander. Head gasket gone - he dropped her back at work and fixed it by 8.30pm (just as well, as I needed it to go and pick up a race car the day after!).

Scruffy premises, but you get so much expertise you look past it in an instant.

Steve Howard looked after my Griff from 97 to 2000 and always did an excellent job. Since then he's kept my Tuscan ticketty-boo. There's normally a race car or two down at his workshop which is always interesting to have a nose around.
