Due to the small mattter of not turning off the lights when I parked up at work this morning I found that the battery was flat when home time came. Even the radio has lost its pre-sets and time.

Using secret knowledge I was able to get into my chim and pop the bonnet. Having previously fitten a Leven jump start/charge lead kit I had no problem getting ready for a jump start. The burning question was from whom?

At that moment a lovely young girl from our customer services department was leaving and although she professed to know nothing about cars was more than happy to let me get a jump start from her Micra.

So, what's the smallest car you've gotten a jump start from?

Following big fuse failure in my Cerb, I jump started it from my Toyota Aygo. Wasn't sure if the Aygo battery, being not much bigger than 3 AA batteries, would turnover the 4.5, but to its credit it did and started no problem.

after leaving my lights on the other day I got a friend at work to jump start me from her Smart car. I thought the battery in the boot of the V8S was bad enough but the Smart's battery is in the passenger footwell!

MX5, owned by one of our staff. Bizarrely she is 6ft 2in tall, more in heels and almost pokes out of the top of her P&J!!!

Gosh! How tacky! I'm sure you'd never find TVR doing such dodgy things as putting a battery in the passenger footwell!

I had someone looking at my car in the garage recently, they say your passengers carpet has fallen, no it's not I said, I ripped it off searching for the battery, what a donkey.

My other question is can it possibly be removed without the need for removing the offside front wheel? As I don't have a jack and a wheel brace.

To answer the topic question my Citreon TVR couldn't start the Tuscan, and my Vectra 2.5 V6 SRI which had a new battery ONLY JUST managed it after quite a bit of preparation.

James Sim.
