Finally got my decat pipes on the Tuscan today. WHAT A NOISE!!!!!!!!!!! Enough to wake the dead. The sounds are varied, anything from deep rumble to a sharp rasp. The explosions on the overrun and between gear changes are frightening.

At idle and cruising speed on the motorway it is no noisier than before, but as soon as the volume pedal is depressed, all hell lets loose.

I didn't notice much, if any, increase in performance unlike the wifes Tamora which seems a little quicker with the decats on. It does, however, seem to be freer revving.

Next step is to put on the original cans and compare between those and the titanium CCC's I am currently using.

My dads old Tuscan was de-catted with CCC's for a while. It sounded very very loud, so tried it with the original cans one day, but the level went back to almost standard. Better off removing the back boxes as the flange is very weak that the can attaches onto. With no back boxes the Tuscan was Fcensoredevil ing loud biggrin

Who knows what de-catted with no back boxes sounds like?!?!?!? Painful at tickover laugh

Nice one Dave! thumbup Good fun aint it! I particularly like cruising at about 3K rpm's on the outside lane of the m'way (ideally next to a concrete barrier for extra resonance) and then putting the foot down - sounds like a spitfire at attack speed biggrin tends to make anyone in front move out of the way quick-sharpish....walled towns are good too...hehe

I don't think you will like putting the standard cans back on as I think the decat enhances the CCC's, especially on the overrun....CRACK!!

Hi Andy. When does the embarrassment phase pass? redface

I don't know whether its the design or not but the pops, bangs, explosions and cracks are straight from an Arnie movie. It just sounds wild. Under heavy acceleration the noise is mind blowing. Will you be at the Rock next weekend?

Ha ha, is that embarrassment with the noise or the need to wash your underwear every time you go for a spin....?? biggrin Don't you just love that deep, gutteral growl when you change up at high rev's? Sounds like the engine is taking a deep breath!

No, not going to the Rock unfortunately. To my shame I have prior commitments that can't be changed. I am a small bit disappointed to say the least....

Happy trails! thumbup
