Yet another way they can bite ya...

Just when you think you must have had the full range of tricks, you firmly pat the bit of boot lining you're trying to restick for the umpteenth time into place and ram a needle shard of resin sheathed GRP up under your thumb nail...that smarts a tad I can vouch. Claret everywhere too

Ouch
Not had a resin shard under my nail, but had a nice long piece of steel go right under my nail all the way to the start of the bed on my wedding finger
hurt like a fecker so I feel your pain
No high heels, it was coming off a horse (and I was up the fields not on the roads before you start)
Best bit (apart from a ride in the air ambulance) was being sent home with a SPRAIN by the trainee doctor only to be called back 3 days later after the top notch guy had seen my x-rays to put it in plaster, the down side, my foot had begun to set in the wrong position and had to forced into a more suitable position for the plaster to go on. I was awake for the whole thing and no pain relief
To say it was agony is an understatement.

I've had a broken nose reset in a similar way. A nurse on one side of me to hold my head in place and a huge doctor the other side pushing my nose back. You could actually hear the bone grating as it went back. Never been in such pain again - even when I broke my back cycling the pain wasn't even near this.Best bit (apart from a ride in the air ambulance) was being sent home with a SPRAIN by the trainee doctor only to be called back 3 days later after the top notch guy had seen my x-rays to put it in plaster, the down side, my foot had begun to set in the wrong position and had to forced into a more suitable position for the plaster to go on. I fractured a bone in my spine when I was 18 (yonks ago then). Whilst that hurt, the brusing and trauma to my back were more of an issue than the fracture. Think it took best part of 3 months before I was able to lie on my back (cue the smutty remarks) without being in too much pain.
My heel though, never experienced pain like it, nor do I want to ever again.

I think the worst pain I suffered was when I curshed a vertebrae in my neck while training for strongman events
I was carrying 2 x 115kg cylinders when I turned my head to the right and heard and enormous crunch and a pop at the same time followed by the feeling that I had just been smacked with a steel pole at the base of my neck
I finished the run, dropped to my knees and I couldnt lower my right arm for well over a week...walking around Leeds looking like the Munchbunch of Notre Crunch
