I have had to almost treat Engine Mounts as a service item and was getting pcensoredd off with changing them.

I also moved the swirl pot more central on the cross member to stop the swan neck being cut by the power steering (non-PS idler pulley) if a mount totally failed, this obviously could lead to serious engine damage if not noticed immediately !!!

Looking at the extra support provided by the SC-Power engine mount restraint brackets i hope that has come to an end biggrin

Failed mount that wasn't that old frown

Damage it can cause frown

New restraint bracket biggrin

New mount & restraint

Old mount that i think shows how the restraint should stop this happening again biggrin

And fitted smile

Engine Mount Restraint Bracket Manufactured & Supplied by SC-Power Clicky for link see bottom of page.

The mounts i use are (i believe) the slightly stronger ones with a raised rubber at each end, they also supply a restraint bracket for the flat ended mount (pic on website) with a pad on each end.

shout BB do you want to copy this for The Griff Pages biggrin

shout Andy for the Monster pages biggrin

The factory race SEAC and several drag race V8's that I have see have an additional torque bar from the engine to chassis - to better resist the torque movement of the engine.. guess this would help to better locate the engine and stop the mounts being torn out.

shout Lies... Lies!!!

Round the corner actually wink

They held up very well at the fighting torque event over the weekend, not sure it would've been same without the restraining bracket, especially with sticky rubber on smile

F.Y.I. Griff 41st out of 90 total & 11th out of 30 Cerbs biggrin

& few very good, close runs with Tim (tbdgriffith500)

I'm sure if could ignore the red mist & change nearer the end of the power band rather than near max revs it would've been a few places higher still wink
