I had the same offer.

My question 'is it a TVR?'

Their reply 'sorry, no'

My reply, 'then I don't need it'.

Unfortunately getting quite normal. The insurance rates for courtesy cars is horrific as everybody treats them like dodgems.

Shame really as I won't pay as I think it should be in the service cost, but I can understand the issue.

That's cheaper than my last loan car, £385 per day.

It was from the insurance company though. laugh

£30 at the Nissan dealer we used to use 'to cover insurance'. We now use another one who collect and deliver the car.

Is there a problem? It costs the garage money to run a courtesy car. They can either spread the cost across all customers, some of whom don't need it, or just charge those that do need it. You could argue the latter is "fairer", whatever that means.

If its free then you're paying for it somewhere, generally in higher per hour labour charges.
Nothing is free.

Just returned the TVR Centre's courtesy car supplied while they serviced my Sagaris. A very nice purple Suzuki X90 - and they gave me a discount off the bill for driving it!

There's always an issue with courtesy cars, when my father had a sports car dealership, there were only a few customers who used to moan when they got a Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 or 309 GTi for that matter, most of them used to buy them for the kids so it was a right money maker(this was the 80's and early 90's).

Also, there's the issue of fuel, we always used to say to people that they are supplied full, they must be returned full, i think 8 out 10 times they went out they always came back with less and less fuel. Wouldn't you have to put the fuel in your own car anyway?

Unfortunately due to rising insurance costs, there comes a point where the dealer has to pass on the additional insurance cost.

Henley Heritage TVR

Good news: They can supply a FREE loan car
Bad News: It's a Perodua Kenari (I'd never heard of it either).

It's making my driveway look bad. Obviously I'm not driving it. Can't wait to get the Tamora back with a working Instrument Pod. Hopefully Friday.

When I had a Jag, the courtesy car was free, but I had to arrange my own insurance, which was a pain.

I don't think GBP 12.50 is too bad for a day.

Yeah, I had that with a Subaru dealer, but they seem to have stopped it now.

Cheers,
