I'm tempted to undertake a headlight conversion for the Chim to bring it up to date.
What is available out there and which firms have a good reputation ?
What are the costs likely to be ?.
Cheers

Try the Chim forum as conversions have been discussed on numerous ocassions before. There is a conversion to T350 headlights which looks the nuts, but I'm not sure who does it - again check out the Chim forum as details of this conversion are in there somewhere.

These guys do the speed 12 type http://www.tvrbodyshop.co.uk/tvr.asp#

The T350 conversion was originally done by Newlun Performance I think (or at least they have a purple one which has been there for years..!). Though I think the black one on here was done by option 1.

Price would be a front end respray at around 1000, new lights, bodywork at whatever the going rate is and pods in the case of the T350 conversion.

All in all probably around 2500ish I would imagine though this is just a guess! I'm looking to get one done next year probably with the T350 conversion and a guy at Newlun told me it would probably be around 4000-4500 with a full respray and two tone paint yikes!

Might be a bit far for you to go, but Surface and Design, Blackpool are doing some really nice light conversions at the moment. They have a chim in their workshop that is nearing completion and it looks absolutely stunning and totaly unique. It maybe worth giving them a call and asking them to send you a photo. Andrew, who is an ex TVR designer, does the design work and Dave and Mike, ex factory body shop, are doing the work. They have just painted the seat backs in the wife tamora and also repaired the rear diffuser. They have made a cracking job of it. Highly recommended.

Speed six conversion by 'OPTION ONE'. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

By far my favourite. This one was at Chimfest so I got a chance to have a proper look.

I like the light units but if I was going to have that amount of fibreglass work done I think I'd have those "dog bites" filled in - then I think it would look great. Photoshop anyone?

Actually, if anything needs filling in, it's the holes under the lights.

Anyone else thinks this looks like an Aston?

Those holes are there to complete the look. That's how the T350 lamps are fitted.

This may come as a shock to you, but that ain't no T350.

Thank you for pointing that out, I don't know what I was thinking. Gosh I thought it was a T350, silly me.

No it's much nicer than a T350. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The holes under the lamps make the image work. Without those holes it would look too plain.
