Other than another TVR...

So you have a TVR in the garage for your weekend drive in the sun and the odd track day, but what do TVR owners like to drive as their everyday machine? Assuming you have kids and sit in traffic everyday...

Ive seen a common connection between TVR owners having a Range Rover as their everyday practicalmobile...

Im thinking about changing my 335i for a Range Rover Sport TDV8...

I imagine its nice to own two (originally) british cars...

Whats your everyday car?
What do you think about the Rangie?

Get a Range Rover if you need some off-road capability or you tow a yacht around. If not, Audi seems to be the market leader of the moment for fast, attractive and practical cars. They handle much better than a RR too!

I dont have a yacht, but I would buy a car trailer to take the Sag to drifferent circuits around the country to save wasting my limited mileage on motorways getting there.

Also I have never been off road, but I am a great believer of using a car the way it was designed to be, if I did get one I would have a play with it off road, the same as Ill have a play with the Sag on a track.

Oh and the Audi is fugly as hell!

5.6 litres of iron block V8, the Addams Family dragster. Fast and vast.

Pair of 335/30 18 tyres in the boot (can't do that with an SUV). Can also accommodate a tumble dryer and washing machine in the back if you take the seat squab out (only works on bench rear seat version). Or a full drum kit, boxed, with the squab(s) in. With self levelling suspension, nobody can tell how much swag is being carried. Has ferried a total of 9 people home from a curry house.

My non-TVR daily hack is a MkV Golf R32. German reliability, practical and has a fantastic engine/exhaust note :-)

bosscerbera, im surprised that plate is not on the TVR...

Out of curiosity... what car were the tyres intended for? must be something special at that size.

There's quite a few of us with Chimaeras running classic Saab 900 Turbo's or fast 9000's alongside them.
For newer stuff in the fast & practical stakes I'm afraid it'd have to be something Bavarian...

for clarification, there's two major German exec makers down there

Agree that the Q7 is a bit of an oversized lump of metal but the Audi saloons and particularly the avants are great looking cars for every-dayers. I run a Freelander 2 which is good and have it for the farm side of our business and shooting, however, I would otherwise be very happy with a car like my sisters RS4 to run along side the Sag.

Yes I am tempted by an RS4 Avant, but im worried that if I had a 400odd bhp car to use everyday that I wouldn't appreciate how fast/good the Sagaris is..? (if you know what I mean... too much of a good thing maybe?)

Also I spend most of my time on the M25, and am struggling to see the point of having a performance car to just sit in traffic... I feel I would rarely have the oportunity to explore the cars potential... and if the choice came up to take either the RS4 or the Sag out for a spirited drive Id take the Sag, its the reason Ive got it after all.

Hence I have been looking at the RRS TDV8... but cant get past the footballers image...

For some years my "everyday car" to the TVR was a Land Rover Discovery which served very well as a tow vehicle when called upon for such duty.
Now, the Discovery has been replaced with a Jaguar Vanden Plas and my wife has an SUV which also serves as the tow vehicle.

Nail/head etc. What about a Disco 3? I, personally, dont see the point in having a large car RRS/Q7/X5/Cayenne etc) that isnt actually big on the inside confused

66 HOT belongs to my trusty Merc, the stable's mothership. cloud9

Prefixed 66 HOT plates used to be on my TVRs. N was on my Griff; R was on my Cerbera (now II ZERO) and X was (still is AFAUK) on my Tuscan Red Rose.
