I'm thinking about changing the seats in my Chimaera. Ive been told Tuscan and T350 will bolt straight in, can anybody confirm this?
Thanks
Andy

I don't think they bolt straight in. They need to be lowered and a few other mods.

I tried to create the definitive thread on this a while back. I think it was a sticky or FAQ for a while.

We should really try and capture all this information in a new-style Wiki thread.

Cerb seats do have the disadvantage of raising the driving position though, apparantly.

I have fitted Tuscan seats in my Chimaera...there is a similar thread to this on the chimaera forum...

they go bit of a tight fit in my car as I have a roll cage in there too....here is a picture..

Ended up dropping the seats as low as they'd go more or less bolted straight to the floor...clearance with setbelt reels is also a potential issue. I am not that tall 5ft 10 on a good day my head just about sits below the roll cage bar now...and my arm sits nicely on top of the door when I am cruisin! Whereas before I sort of reached up!biggrin

Might be better to go for the early Cerbera seat...there would appear to be more room on these...and to be honest they look o.k. too.

No nothing of Tamora / T350 seats and suitability.

Thanks for all of your input, sorry for the delay in responding.
I'm after fitting a roll cage and harness hence looking for different seats.
I would like to lower my driving position if poss as my crash hat constantly hits the roof at present. I'm not tall at all just out of proportion i guess.
Schimg, did you have to mess about with the Tuscan seats much to make them fit.
Also would it be possible for you measure the available height between the seat swab? squab? (the bit your arse goes on)and the roof and let me know so i can make a comparison
Thanks
Andy

Have Cerb seats in the SE & can confirm that it raises the driving position a little (good for shorties), gives better lateral support (good), but bloody awful lumbar support. How can I put this tactfully, Fatboy, with a bit of extra adiposity ie a wide squidgy arse, I think the original Griff/Chim seats are the most comfortable. If you are racing/need harness, better to go for Tuscan or proper race seats.
