dyed my faded carpets

When I got the Tuscan the carpets had faded quite badly, they had turned from blue to a sort of yellow colour.

Today I had a go at dying them and I'm quite pleased with the result.

The rear shelf was very yellow but didn't get a photo of it.

My carpets are the same colour and I have been thinking of doing the same thing over the winter (in case it went horribly wrong!)

I used a dye kit from leather magic here

Sent them a sample of the carpet that I cut out when fitting the rear speakers and they mixed the colour to match.

Thats an impressive job indeed and another for my "to do" list as the carpets (which look like a very similar blue) are faded in places on my Chim. Will have to find a sample of carpet from somewhere to send off!

Nice job! I did mine with some navy blue suede dye, did the trick and doesn't bleed off either. I did look at the leather magic stuff though as I think that would probably do a better job but the suede dye is ok as an intermediate fix. If I need to do it again I think I will go down the leather magic route.

Great looking job - how easy was it to do? Any pointers or tips?

Was fairly easy, the best thing to do is follow the instructions, make sure you keep working the carpet with the supplied brush.

When you first apply it the colour looks like it's not dying the very top bits of the thread but as it drys the colour starts to coat the top as well.
