Is no news good news?

Its now fast approaching a year without production. Is no news good or bad news. In the past it seemed like continual news (read propaganda)ended up as bad news so whats happening?
The last conversation I had with anyone 'in the know' was two months ago when I was told to wait for 'two or three months' for positive news.Make of that what you will but it was said with an assurance that convinced me that there were concrete plans.
The good thing is that NS will not get his money back by the Multipart contract - that's peanuts. If he's got a backbone then he's got to do something to get a return on his millions.
In last month's editorial I said that even people who were willing to speak 'off-the-record' early on this year are now closed-mouthed. I can't help thinking that that is good news.
But I've been wrong before. However, I might try phoning around again next week.
O ye of little faith.
Richard Dawkins, the born again athiest, reckoned that a frequent argument put to him for believing in a god was that if there isn't one, what have you lost and, if there is one then you'd feel a bit of an idiot in eternal damnation. It's spurious, I know, but the thought that there will never, ever be any more TVRs is too depressing to contemplate So, the choice would seem to be between: feeling down all the time at the end of a wonderful marque; and hope, although not eternal.
Who would have thought that MG would be producing cars in 2007? It was an uncomfortble rebirth I know, what with it being so far away from Abingdon (not to mention Irish dancers at the launch!), but it still exists. It's better than nothing. Whatever happens to TVR, it will not be what most of us would want and, for many, the best that could be said is that it is better than nothing.
I feel certain that there will be a new TVR produced in 2008. If, in December 2008 it hasn't appeared then I will probably cough to being utterly and totally wrong. But then, of course, I will start feeling just as miserable as others have been in the meantime. But I would have had 15 months of hope and anticipation.
Not much of an argument for being positive I know, just a bit better than the alternative.

A good inspiring speech Derek. I for one still hope TVR can salvage something at the end of the day. There are a lot of very passionate people out there and also at the TVRCC, who care about the marque, who have kept the candle light burning in the window, through some hard times.
I for one wish three thinks this year.
1) Wales will do well in the Ruby World Cup.
2) TVR will be reborn.
3) I will become a multi millionaire on the lottery
Am I being delusional about the first two?

Nice one Derek. It's good to hear someone with a positive attitude to it all.Thats a great way to look at it,and i've chosen to adopt a similar philosophy. It definately makes me feel moreRichard Dawkins, the born again athiest, reckoned that a frequent argument put to him for believing in a god was that if there isn't one, what have you lost and, if there is one then you'd feel a bit of an idiot in eternal damnation.
