That the TVR name comes from the TR7 brand AND TVR used to make replica Spitfires, TR7s and Midgets, ohyes. Well, that's what I was reliably informed of by a guy at my local Tesco filling station tonight.

I tried to explain that the TVR name comes from Trevor Wilkinson the founder of the company, but he wouldn't have any of it. So, there you go, Trevor, is a myth. Oh, and his parting words were, when I said my car is a Cerbera, "Well, it looks like they're branching out into some interesting stuff, not practical enough for me though".biggrin

He's right, you know. All kinds of stuff they are branching out into...like closed gates, unanswered phones, lights left off, etc., etc. None of it practical. Spot on.

What an utter oik.

Cool I used to have an original TVR then smile

first thing a lot of people say to me when i mention TVR is either TR7 or Triumph

although the cerb was once called a daimler by an old bloke in the garage, he said ' you can't beat these old daimlers' hehe i didnt have the heart to correct him, at the time i wasn't sure if he was jokin but i do actually think he thought it was a Daimler.

It isn't all bad - I have a picture of a Griff on my office wall (yes, I know!). Just had a 10yr old lad brought to see me by his father. Instantly "Cor, TVR! Cool!"
