W112 BHG - Was it ever reflex purple?
Discussion
Some of you may remember me mentioning that my dad encountered a TVR that was purple, sounded like "Thor Gargling Gun Powder", and was accelerating faster than any other car he has ever seen, about 5/6 years ago, in Strensall, York. It turns out that a friend of mine also saw a car that matches this description, in Huntington, York. Neither saw the front end, as by the time they'd turned round it'd gone past, but my dad does say it had side exit exhausts. Both say it has the charateristic elongated bottom bumper that the Cerbera Speed 12 had. I was wondering if it was the 12, or is there any other car, or even make of car, that it could be mistaken for?
Many thanks,
Nick

that might have been the original Speed12 not the Cerbera Speed12
...whatever... the point is s speed 12 something or other was in different colours than suggested and to try and be so definite about a TVR development car is impossible. They all stemmed from the same thing which was a Cerbera based project I believe.Edited by V8 GRF on Friday 14th September 09:04
The original Speed 12 was different to the Cerbera Speed 12, i.e, not Cerbera-based. In fact, it was originaly called project 7/12. The first time I saw it, it was white and the last time, at the factory, was purple.

Wrong!! I remember an article in a magazine entitled 'Something Evil Cometh' and the car was a Speed 12 Cerb based car in a purplish colour but that was at least 10 years ago!Claire
The white project sp12 that is on the JC vid and the purple mockup that was on the motorshow stand.
there are also the racing cerb sp 12's
W112, was PW's own car and he used to drive to work in it.

I just love it when Internet cocktards start posts with "Wrong!!" and then try to make out that they are a source of knowledge because they read something in a magazine once.
Especially when the person who they are "correcting" is as close to the factory as Claire is and has actual real first-hand knowledge.
