TVR in France, did yours run good?

Took my 450 chim. to Le Mans for the weekend and it was great. First time I have been able to run it on super fast roads and what a blast.
The new AP brakes and Nitron shocks suted the roads oh so well. The only problem I had was with the starter motor, is locked engaged and then burned up (somke) while at the petol station.
The French were all over the TVR asking loads of question and giving it the thumbs up!!
Any other good stories?

fantastic fun all the way, had a bit of grief trying to get petrol at 10pm fri night 60 miles outside of le mans. managed to get 230miles out of a tank (normally get between150-170). stopped at a self service, flagged down a french lady and gave her some euros to use her french credit card.
way back was awesome, fighting it out with my friends ferraris, 456, 355 and 360. lets just say the griff held its own, until the 456 decided to really show its cards at 150mph and flew all the way to 180

Bit o/t but went to France (Disneyland Paris) for Valentines Day and Drove the Tuscan (Wife not too impressed with being the side near the concrete wall they have there as Armco)
Anyway, it was nice to see that their super unleaded was actually 98ron! So why cant GB have 98ron as standard.
Super fast run and kept it at about 110mph got 24.75mpg and top speed of 185mph on a very nice 3 miles straight (3 lanes wide) with no cars insight.

Yep - my Chim 450 ran brilliantly all weekend. The French do seem to love em. The cheers/waves/thumbs up (and even a 10 people mexican wave) as we went home on Sun evening was superb. Best bit was going thru one of the little towns where there must have been about 100 people who went nuts when I slowed right down, put it in 1st and gave it some beans!! 
Even at the port there must have been 20-30 Frenchies looking at the cars. TOP WEEKEND!

Took the Tamora - got sunburnt on the way down. The French roads are just fantastic. Our trip was hosted by Racing Green - a very hospitable and friendly bunch.
Only problem I had was the hose blowing off the washer bottle.
The French petrol 98Ron improved sound and performance noticeably.
The Tamora attracted loads of interest.
Lets hope TVR compete next year.

I didn't take the Tiv, as I normally go with a bunch of lunatics who after a few beers may want to wind me up by, eg, painting it a different colour! However, I was getting cheesed off with them taking the p*ss out of Tiv reliability because of i) a light blue Tuscan being loaded onto a recovery vehicle on the way down, ii) a broken down dark coloured Chim at the side of the road on the way back about to be towed, iii) DeWalt 91 hitting a wall, and iv) DeWalt 92 breaking a propshaft. I hope things worked out for the Tuscan/Chim occupants.
However, there were many, many more Tivs roaring past!
Anyone at Arnage on Sunday night? Some great motors, including Tamoras, Chims, Griffs, Cerbies, etc as well as the boring Ferraris, Lambo, Bentleys, etc etc

Had an interesting trip to Le Mans, having landed in France at Le Havre at about 9-9.30pm. Having never driven abroad before and driving in pitch blackness and S headlights are dim to say the least. Fortunately we made it to Le Mans in about 3 hours but with some of the Griffs in our group running on vapour. Managed to find a petrol station after about a hour which we couldnt use as it wouldnt take any of our credit cards. Thankfully, a couple of Gendarmes turned up and we followed them to a station that took cash. After filling up it took us about another hour to find the camp site - crappy sign posts. Eventually got our tents up at about 4am.

Well, I didn't take my TVR on holiday, but I did just get back from France. There was a blue 'S' in one of the Normandy landing villages yesterday (Tues) and a red Griff (MEE 88) driven by an amply-proportioned chap on our Express ferry back to Portsmouth. Apart from that, didn't see any others (but wished constantly that we'd been in mine 
)
