Some of you may remember Friday the 3rd of November 2006, when a bunch of like minded TVR nuts went to Blackpool to hold a rally, outside Bristol Avenue, to cheer on the workforce as they finished their shift. As it happened, following some interference from "the management", it turned out that the work force applauded us (Its a long story). It was a fantastic day, out of which, some say, London Thunder and, ultimately, the Thunderball was born.

Mrs NTEL and I were thinking that it might be nice to take nostalgic run to Blackpool on the 3rd of November this year, maybe meeting up with a few folk at Pontins on South Shore, driving down the prom and taking the same route to Bristol Ave, where we could stop to shed a tear or two, and then nipping into the Red Lion for lunch and light refreshments.

I know to some people it may sound like sentimental tosh and that's fair enough, but we will be going along so if anybody else would like to join us, then you would be very welcome.

We will be travelling to Blackpool via Track V Road at Clitheroe which would be a good place to meet if people would like to go in convoy.

Timings would be approximately as follows:

Meet at Track V Road at 10.00am
Leave Track V Road at 11.00am
Meet at South Shore at 12.00 noon
Leave south Shore at 13.00
Red Lion at about 14.30

Anybody interested?

or telly cameras, or reporters (although that little lady presenter from the beeb was quite tasty), or paranoid TVR directors ringing my mobile every 2 minutes......should be a nice day rain or shine.

What a great idea Dave, that day was one of my greatest TVR experiance's and one I will never forget, unfortunatley I am currently TVR less frownfrownfrown but may be either back in the fold by then or else just come again a relive a very very special day.

Just putting my marker on this thread really, although am fairly tempted to make the journey as missed last year - I do keep having thoughts about visiting the factory before it gets developed to flats or whatever the plans may be. Need to run it by my wife as weekends already looking fairly frantic between now and Christmas yikes

David, would you plan on going North the night before or just making an early start from our neck of the woods? If an early blat I could be up for a run up together assuming I get clearance.

Be aware there is very little to see at the factory now and there are no signs or whatever left. Surface and Design are just around the corner so I've seen the place a few times recently and frankly I find it depressing. That said a good collection of homecoming TVRs would liven the place up biggrin
