Please can someone help a complete fool download some pics, they are at the moment on Picassa, but I don't know how to get them onto this site. I need VERY specific instructiions otherwise it just won't happen!! If you use "computer speak" I won't understand you!!

Edit to add: you can load pics to a web site like www.flick.com first, then right click those pics to get the address you need. then paste it in a post with the format shown above.

Ok............the pics aren't hosted on an external site, they are on my computer, the programme I use is called Picassa, so I guess typing www. picassa.com (as in www.somewhereontheinternet.com)doesn't do much.............yes..........I really am computer illiterate : So a bit more specific info would help

IIRC you cannot upload directly from your PC, you must host then on the internet first.

You need to upload the files to a website that can hosts pictures.
If you quote this reply you will see that the pic below is hosted on a website.

I use www.flickr.com to host mine. There are others though.

Yes, but there is a financial implication involved in this.

There are plenty of sites offering Free web space, just have a Google.

It's very easy.

Create an account at www.photobucket.com

Click on the middle tag that says 'My Album'

The uploader is on that page. Click on the browse button next to the top box and find the pictures you want to upload on your PC. Select your first picture and then do the same action in the next box down until you have selected all the pictures you want to upload. Then click on the 'Upload' button

This will uppload the pictures you want to post into your album.

When the picture(s) you want are on their site you will see thumbnails of all your pictures. You will see four boxes with html code below the image(s) you have uploaded.

(Left)Click on the bottom box with the label IMG Code and it will select the code, then come to PH and paste the code into a 'Reply to Topic' box (either right click>paste or Ctrl> V)

You can do that as many times as you want, just leave a couple of lines between code and then press 'Preview'button below to check it's all worked.

Then press 'Submit' et voila.

Just checked at Photobucket. The reason I used [IMG] is because I was posting an 'easy guide' to posting a pic and the default tag there is [IMG] It wouldn't be sensible to then tell the OP to edit the link now would it?

Hi Chris,

I've just dug out a little video clip I made a while ago that shows you how to post a picture on Pistonheads.

As others have already said you first need to up load the images, from your computer to a picture hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket. Once the images are on there and you can see them this little video clip shows how you can add images to Pistonheads.

Right click on the 'Clicky' below and select 'Save Target As'. You will then see a 'Save To' window. Save the file 'how-to-post-a-pic.zip' to your computer, unzip and watch. If you repeat what the video clip shows you you'll be posting pics in no time
