My mate lost it at about 040mph, did lots of 360s hitting the central barrier, boot and fuel tank got detached from the car and exploded (1st pic), luckily we both walked away, never found the top, bonnet and radiator

You might want that to indicate the actual speed which was obviously < 70MPH! wink

I'm impressed and glad that everyone walked away smile

I'm sure you meant 40mph, the BiBs might take a dim view of someone being a witness to an accident at that speed.

Sheee it !

You may want to remove all reference to speed actually. If insurers think this happens in low speed prangs then premiums might rise. Sounds flippant but from small rumours do big problems grow.

Glad everyone OK. Shows how strong and solid the chassis and frame are.

Hi guys, thasnk for your comments, the car has been picked up by the insurance company sometime ago, so no parts are available. My mate has the engine out of it which was untouched by the accident. The engine is highly modified 5lt with carbon fibre enlarged trumpets, different sump etc. he has showed me receipts of 11k work done to it by a reputable TVR garage. I think he was advertising the engine here 1-2 months ago, but its still for sale due to the asking price.

The car behaved impecably, we didnt feel the impact at all due to the fibreglass absorbing the energy, adn the chassis was undamaged, i truly believe if we were in a normal car we wouldnt have walked aay like we did

I absolutely chuffing hate pictures of accidents in TVR's, it brings back all the memories of my own which I've been trying to forget for 3 years.

At least you had the sense to make it just a link and give it a title which meant I should at least close one eye before opening the link !

Glad you both survived biggrin

Leigh, Jools (Trackcar on PH I think) had a 4.0 and box for sale on ebay a while ago out of his V8S. He might still have it.

Hi thanks for your comments, the accident happened about a year ago, The guy was on the fast lane, road curving to the right, and for no reason the tail went and we started spinning. It all happened in a split second. I dont know why the back end spun as i was just the passenger.
