TVRCC Middx Region meet at the Ace Cafe - Wed 17th Oct
Discussion
Do you think its possible Adam could update the website, its still got the september meet on it, perhaps do an article in sprint (when was the last article ?), or hell, even actually organise something other than a monthly meeting, which was moved due to dwindling numbers to share the meeting with the Loti.
I have to be honest its all gone very quiet over at Middlesex that i started attending other meets because things were actually happening.
So come on then RO, whats going on with the region ?

The emphasis in recent months has been on the other (more sociable) meet on the first Wednesday of the month at the Coy Carp and then Rose and Crown. The Ace is a great place to meet up in the summer when there is some light to look at cars but that is only about 3 months of the year.
If you want to know what's going on then I suggest you come along to a meeting or contact the RO via the e-group - remember PH and TVRCC are two different organisations.
If there is nothing going on perhaps you could make some (polite) suggestions as to what we might do - then you can help organise it.
Anybody know what the weather's going to do tomorrow? Don't want to get my shiny Tamora wet.

Will do. To be honest, I've been busy lately as I've only just started in a new job.We are in a period of RO hand-over as I resigned from the role last month (due to approaching Parenthood). I'm sorry you haven't felt enough was going on in the Middlesex region, but we've all been enjoying the huge number of regional and national events - there has hardly been a TVR event free weekend.
The Ace night move was nothing to do with dwindling numbers, but numbers have reduced as a result of the move. We had no choice in the matter. The additional pub meet is popular, and possibly more what we're about at Middlesex.
I only ever got one comment on my columns in Sprint, so reduced the number I wrote accordingly.

Moving to Wednesday has really put the stoppers on things. I used to go pretty much every month when it was a Friday, even if it was just a drop off for a pint and a burger before going out.
I'll be missing again tomorrow for the third month in a row thanks to work commitments and I reckon its the same problem for others. I know that there was nothing we could do about being moved - I have my suspicions that some of the bike guys would opt for no cars at all if they had the choice - but the transition hasn't gone well. Especially bad now that the nights are drawing in.

Sorry, i always found that one the dull one
, very few people actually turned up in the cars, even in the summer, The Ace really kick Started the Middlesex Region off again and had some really good Meets there, it would have been great to have seen that improved upon.Harrow_tam said:

I'm not having a rant here at Adam, just seems a shame that it seems to be dying down...

Many of which i have attended - but it is the Local clubs that keep up the membership and they shouldnt be ignored, one of the great things about the Car club is the regionality of it, especially in London - what ever happened to the drive out to the other local clubs, Surrey, Essex, The Ace was always well attended by other regions...page3 said:

Really, thats why i was glad when it made the move from the Coy Carp - and one of the many reasons why it was then so well attended.page3 said:

Still, the 1st thing i do is trawl through the RO reports, ok i may be a bit odd but i really enjoy the local updates

me too, always looked forward to TVR night @ the ACE, even though it would take me an hour to get there.but I now work every Wednesday, so won't be making it

hope you get a good turn out tonight.
Yes, it's true, I am the new RO (again).
The current situation with the Ace Cafe is less than ideal. The problem is that our meeting night was moved by the Ace management (as was that of many other marques) to free up every Friday for a big bike meet. The Ace Cafe was and is a bike venue, so the car meets are interlopers. There are lots of TVRCC members in our area, but very few attend the meetings. This is one of the reasons why we have an extra pub meeting every month. The TVR meeting at the Ace will continue, but we will investigate other venues more conducive to a region meeting.
Many thanks to Adam for doing a great job
(especially as I was somewhat responsible for twisting his arm to do it in the first place), but he now has other family and work commitments to concentrate on.

Probably won't make it tonight as the man from the council is coming round to convince us that his proposed new parking regulations will be a good thing. We're also off on holiday tomorrow so I ought to at least start thinking about doing some packing.
Nick
Will they give you a space for the horsebox? Nick

Have a great holiday Nick.
