There are already two threads going at the moment that touch upon this. Have a look at "Tuscan vs Cerbera" on this forum and "Rebuild update.. thx TVR" in the Tuscan forums. Then please delete this topic or ask a moderator to do so.
Im not going to comment further on the matter, I dont want to annoy people any more than I have done. I hit a few nerves with a sledge hammer and I think people got the wrong idea as to what I was trying to find out.
If any moderators read this, just delete the topic please, its already being covered elsewhere.

BCA - that was a bit harsh!
By the nature of the beast if every new thread was deleted that covered issues that have been covered before then there would only be a handful of threads over the whole gassing station. Posting about cars, specifically Tiv's can have only a limited breadth of different topics. Let the man ask his question - you don't HAVE to reply if you don't want to....
You never know maybe, someone will come along and throw new light on the topic....

I went from a Griff to a Tuscan. The difference in performance and handling is amazing. I have had a few niggles with the car and was contemplating what to do if the dealer offered to swap the car out for me. My main thought was that I wouldn't want to step back in terms of performance (if you could say the Griff lacked performance!) which I felt only left me with two choices, a 4.5 Cerbie or another Tusc.
Both my Griffs were stunning, reliable and fast. I won't comment on the 4.5 Cerbie as I haven't spent long enough in one, but the Tuscan takes performance to a different level. You certainly wouldn't be disappointed, but make sure you drive plenty of both.

Macdeb - drive em both - drive as many different ones as you can. Scour the threads here and then make up your own mind. Whatever you go for will probably not be as reliable as a Porkie (you know that already as you already have a TVR) but it will be a lot more fun. Enjoy.

Time to leave Ben alone now I think. I was loathe to get involved in this because I think he overreacted here a little. But there have been a rash of 'you failed your test so you can't know anything' posts directed at him recently, which is a bit cheap to say the least, especially since he hasn't talked about the driving experience in any of the cars he's discussing (except for the family Cerb, which he drives regularly on private roads).
FWIW, I know Ben, and he is unbelievably well informed about cars (better than a lot of people 20 years his senior), and passionate to learn more - I'm sorry that doesn't seem to come across in his posts. I'd be happy to discuss my next car purchase with him. And since credentials seem to be important
- I've had a driving licence for 25 years, AIM for 8 years, am a Mechanical Engineer and am on my second TVR. Hang on a wee second here...
I don't think I was being harsh in anyway. At 22, i'm hardely the most experienced and certainly far from the most knowledgable person on these boards. I have learnt much from these pages and enjoy quizzing the more technically minded amongst you.
Furthermore, I have never been one of the people to jump on the 'you've not passed your test' bandwagon. I wish you all the luck in the world - i was there only a few short years ago.
I appreciate that BCA does know what he is talking about, that I have never brought into question. I just thought it was a bit of an over-reaction to ask for a thread which opened with an honest question to be closed in such an abrupt manner.

Now I am intrigued - David, from your first hand driving experience of a Griff (assuming it was a 500), just how much faster can the Tuscan be??? I'm not bothered about 176 v 186 top end or whatever, but in general driving and putting your foot down on the motorway and blasting across country roads is there really a massive difference?

I can't comment on comparison as I have never driven a Griff, but on paper the Tuscan is a couple of seconds quicker to 100, even though the times to 60 are about the same, so I guess you would notice a difference once you got going.

Im sorry for my rather abrupt response. It was late and I was annoyed at the way in which the other thread went when I really didnt mean to annoy anyone. I didnt want to see yet another thread go that way.
Im quite happy to talk to anyone at pistonfest reguarding TVR's, or, well, anything. I appreciate its easy for most people to jump at the fact that im 17, dont have a liscense and havent driven a Tuscan. I guess most of my age groups passion for nasty plastic neon-lit boxes is also to blame
.
Although I may not be the most "qualified" person on here to talk about anything TVR, I am willing to learn more and share my (limited) knowledge with whoever wishes to talk to me. I will be in the Smart at PistonFest (so I can drive) and therefore wont be hard to find.
Thanks to those who have accepted the situation and have stood up for me (thanks especially to Corinne). I really dont mean to annoy anyone at all, im only on here to learn more and help others who might be after some pointless bit of knowledge that I somehow hold in my rather empty head.
Enjoy your cars, whether you are two cylinders short of an engine or not (j/k

It is a problem that all us younger folk have to labour under. Just because I'm a petrol head and under 25 doesn't make me want to go out and buy a nova SR on 18s with springs that have been cut down by a hacksaw in the back of a garden shed.
My mate calls them vauxhall clits. Because every c*** has one.
