Ok people, finally sold my 2 cars, so I'm looking at a few options for my next car, i need it to reliable enough to drive most days with fuel economy that isn't to scary, I'm an engineer so most repairs i can do myself.

Reliability wise and cost to run etc, is the Cerbera 4.5 or Tuscan going to be a better option?

my other choices are BMW M3, Porsche 911, a more sensible choice a know, but I'm bored of being sensible.. and always loved my mates TVR.

Well the cerbera cost for the last Six months and 8000 miles have been one service which was free and two rear tyres at £280.00. The car did have a new starter motor in the first week of ownership which was covered under the warrenty. I use mine every day and love it. thumbup

I know that not everyone has had great experiences with Tuscans, hence some of the bad press surrounding the car. For somereason the tuscan suffers more bad press than other speed six engine cars - in my opinion unjustified.

I can only speak from my own experience, I have had 2 tuscans used every day.

First was a 2001 car, bought by me in 2005 - No problems, running costs quite resonable

Second a 2004 54 reg car, again no problems.

Stunning looking car, but at the same time quite practical (huge boot etc)

Only my opinion

Cheers

Cheers guys, what sort of range do you get from a tank and how much do they cost to fill?

Factoring in all thing at the moment, im aware that these can cost £3000 a year to keep on the road! but a nice M3 will cost me 18000+ and i can get a nice 4.5 cerbera with spider wheels and headlamp conversion (what i would be wanting!) for about £15000 so would give me a buffer for the first year!

Well on a cerbera MPG varies from about 6-8mpg on trackday (or fighting torque) to an average around town 18-22mpg. On a decent run I've had 27mpg at french & german motorway speeds.

As for cost - it depends. My first year running was about £500 for the servicing and oil. So I spent another £2k on bits that would have needed doing in the future, suspension upgrade, radiator recore, pipes, stainless water manifold etc.

I haven't spent any more on it yet (touches wood, crosses fingers)
