Any of you planning a meal over at the Lyttelton in Hagley this festive season, you better find somewhere else.

Looks like we're going to have to find a new location to meet guys!!

I wondered why the road was closed off, then somebody at work mentioned the fire. Lets hope they can get a new roof on and re-opened by the spring.

Wouldn't hope on it opening up too soon. Went and had a look this evening. The main bar area is gone completely! The restaurant and private function area has no roof. And the smell is unbelievable.

I'm no engineer, but I'd have thought most of what's left will have to be pull down before they can even think about building again.

Lets just hope they don't decide to build 50 houses on there instead.

Not good news chaps - friend of mine was booked for his office party there on Friday!!
Haven't been for a look yet, but it doesn't sound like it will re-open for some time - I have a number of friends who work for M & B (who own it) so I'll see if I can find anything out about timescale, although I'm sure they won't know much yet.
In the meantime we'll have to meet elsewhere, somewhere with a decent carpark! If we want to stay in the same general area there's the Bell at Bell End, or we could go into Belbroughton - The Talbot or The Queens?, or go into Hagley to West One?

I was thinking the same about the houses Will, id be surprised if they rebuild it personally. (bought that merc yet?)

I was thinking the Bell at Bell end (Snigger) Pete, or the Foley? not sure how we would be recieved at the Queens, Talbot might be better? and cant stand West one. Or there is always the Swan at Chaddesley?

Chicagos Paulo? ill have to come round and hit you with the Ugly stick a bit more or you might stand out!!!

Brum for me tomorrow night!

Even though im not a tvr owner (yet) i was so looking forward to coming to one of these meets and making some local friends - only 10 mins away from my house and a lovely pub.
Tried it out for dinner 2 days before the fire, promise nothing to do with me though !!! Some of the guys from work drive past it every day and said how terrible the damage looks, what a shame frown

Definately no Christmas dinner here. Think even more now they will have to knock the rest down.

The Bell at Bell End is a good shout. Not so keen on the Talbot. There's been a spate of burglaries and cars broken into around Bellbroughton, dad's included. A big fan of the Swan at Chaddersley, not sure I'll be able to drive back though!!

Good Pic Will, wheres it from? you havnt been bothering firemen for rides again have you?

IF they do rebuild it surely we got to be looking at 6 months at least? shame because its such a great pub for the summer.

Dont worry Anna, looks like another meet somewhere local will be on the cards in the new year.

Feel sorry for those with functions booked there though

Will be awful if people turn up on Christmas day expecting a meal. I imagine all there booking details have also gone up in smoke so they won't be able to contact everyone to tell them. I was meant to be going there on Saturday with 20 friends. Got into the French Hen amazingly though.

Which Merc did you go for. The CLK 63 AMG that was behind you!! Will be in the Bull tomorrow after work a few cheeky ones.

Will, that picture is incredible !
I heard via a friend yesterday that they are planning to rebuild & it will be 4 to 6 months, so we may be back there for the summer !
I'm also going to be at the French Hen on Saturday night with a big group of friends !!
I also like the Swan at Chaddesley, but also think I might struggle to drive afterwards. Didn't know about the car thefts in Belbroughton, we'll give that a miss I think.
See you all soon.

Have a great Christmas, Pete.

Well now Soundchaser has given us tomorrows forecast if your up for a run tomorrow (about 3 hrs - excluding stops if required?)
I`ll be on the Swan Inn car park (at least I think its the Swan - on the B4091 opposite Swan Lane and before Wood Lane) about 250 yds off the Stourbridge road roundabout with B4091 at about 0930hrs tomorrow (Thursday)

Now before the off just be advised I have not had chance to Recce this route so unforseen problems and navigation errors may occur so I make no apologies if some roads are a bit ropey or we get lost and have to take a detour all part of the adventure.
