I appreciate the difficulties in running a thread like the previous one and all the potential pitfalls there are when allowing it to run and run, but I personally found it to be very informative and helpful.
I am also about to pay for my first SP6 12,000 service, and had at first been enticed by a particularly cheap advert in Sprint at £499 to include tappet check and adjustment, but following the recent thread have now decided to pay that little bit extra ( in this case about £180) and go to someone who is actually recommended by many fellow PHers and at the same time enjoy a run out to near Wisbech !
Surely topics like this are much more valuable than any 'Oooh......... I've just seen a brill DB5' or whatever will ever be ?

LET THESE TOPICS RUN, and by all means monitor them and edit where appropriate !!

Agree. That thread had run its course IMHO, The Mods don't live on here and cant be editing threads 24/7.
There were comments removed by myself and over mods to try and keep it going. In my experience once you get to the stage in them type of threads where a Garage owner feels he has to comment then the threads go down hill, hence I felt nipping it in the bud there and then was the best choice in that case.

Happy driving
You wont be disappointed with the service either. Just make sure he replaces the seat cushion, he is a 'Tall Bloke'hehe

Oh and I do agree with your other point too.

ETA: Just read Simon Galliano's answer on the locked topic below and feel he should be congratulated on his calm and balanced response- it can't be easy to have your company put down publicly. Having said which I believe everyone has a right to know the pro's and cons of a service as long as the comments remain balanced, factual and without malice (not easy when dealing with our P&J). Hopefully the constructive criticism will be heard and dealt with and all involved move on and prosper.

As in all business's the customer is always right.(You rely on repeat custom)
If Offords have took money without doing jobs properly, and then treated their customers like idiots. Its their own fault for getting bad feedback.

you'll probably find that most of those complaining online have not voiced their concerns direct .......

I've used Offords 3 times so far. Only once did I feel I was not happy and said so to Simon...we negotiated a refund appropriate to the situation, as he stated that he didn't want to lose my business over it. Can't say fairer than that. I would use them again.
