Just picked up the latest Feb edition lunchtime - nice 6 page T350 Buyer's guide article. Very interesting feature although now it's all covered in sandwich crumbs!

I think the following quote from Roger Green, in this months EVO should be made a sticky
"The suggestion that you should buy a secondhand TVR is always going to be a tad controversial.

The Evo guy posted on here asking for information, a couple of months ago. I faxed him the T350 review in Sprint as a start, so I'm glad the end result is positve. I don't often buy Evo, but might do this time.

A fair review I thought. I'm surprised the number of red rose variants is as low as 30 though.

I was informed there are only around 30 'genuine' Red Rose T350's in existence by the TVR main dealer who supplied mine. Quite an exclusive car !

I've just re-read it again and it seems to suggest that 2 red rose variants were oferred - one at 375bhp and one at 400bhp. My understanding is that the state of tune wasn't an option at all, but depended on whether you could twist PW's arm into giving you something a little bit extra special. To the best of my knowledge, the factory only made 2 400bhp 3.6 red rose T350's and I've got one (I have barefoot's old car) and I think Cristoff ? has the other.

Does anyone know if any T350's left the factory with a 4.0 litre SP6 or an "S" spec version ?

I thought there were only about 12 or so Red Rose cars? I thought PW wouldn't do many because he wanted people to but the Sagaris?

Karlo, out of intrest where did you get it resprayed. I see you live in hertfordshire like myself, was it sprayed locally. Gordon

It wasn't known at the time but the press cars (the silver one and yellow one) were 4.0's - and there are at least 5 customer order T350s that came out of the factory with blueprinted 4.0 engines.

I think that was the official line at the time, that there was only the 375bhp 3.6L blueprint option, which was part of the official Red Rose package.

I think I was lucky in persuading PW to build mine with the 4.0S engine as I had purchased new TVR's before, but probably it was the timing of my order (March '04). It was only a few months after that that he sold to Smolenksi. Perhaps I caught him on a low cash flow day

There's quite a lot of confusion over what constituted Red Rose as I was not given the option of adjustable suspension on mine, but I have all the other options fitted (see profile) - it was probably just as well as I would still be paying for it today

Good positive article though and should help in steadying the values of these cars in future.
