Thanks for the comments. I really do appreciate them.
I hate to disagree when you've been so nice, but it is not a thankless task - as you've demonstrated here. You would not believe the comments, phone calls and emails I get from around the world and most end with a 'well done'.
I've made some good friends as well. And that's the best type of thanks anyone can get.
I've thoroughly enjoyed editing Sprint. I'm like most people in that I find it difficult to judge if I'm doing things right and comments like those above help no end.
There's lots of good comments coming in for Mandy's first edition - and quite rightly, it's great and I like the new layout and the typeface is a big improvement I think.
But my turn for thanks: to those who have helped on the team over the years, to both Chairmen, especially Simon who took the (big) risk on me, to all those who submitted copy and pictures, to those who submitted information, to those who submitted ideas, to those who gave constructive criticism and to those who gave me thanks.
When I opened this month's Sprint I read it as a magazine and not as something I would check through for errors, looking at what we'd done well, and what was not so good. I enjoyed it. Nice article on the RV8 mods.
Thanks for the thanks, guys.
And I think you'll find I did better than Peter Wheeler as I handed over to someone who will take Sprint on and develop and improve it. Well done Mandy.

As the newer generartion of Sprint lands on the mat I just thought it would be nice amongst all the kerfuffle to say a big thanks to Derek Smith.
As outgoing editor I would just like to say a job and often thankless task well done sir.

Having produced a ten page newsletter/magazine (Cheiron) for the South Yorkshire Region for 4 years I have a great respect and admiration for the work put into Sprint.
I was one of the detractors when the A5 was superceded but I have to concede that things have to move on and the new look eventually got its "club" focus back.
A great job well done.
