You join the TVR Car Club centrally and attend whichever meet you choose. Mid-Essex is your nearest and best because
a) They're a great bunch with a new and enthusiastic RO,
b) part of the fun of any meet is the drive there and back, so finding the 'nearest' is NOT always a good choice and,
c) you'll get to meet up with YP again!!
I drive there from Herts (J 23 of the M25)
Here are the details of the mid-Essex convoys http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.as... and here http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...
The monthly meets are really in 2 parts as you'll see in these links. Everyone meets in a pub car park easily accessible from the A12 at about 11:00. Then the main convoy leaves from there at about midday and goes to a country/golf club venue about 40 minutes away for further walking round each others cars and finally a great carvery lunch(optional but recommended!)
So join and we look forward to seeing you on February 10th!! You know it makes sense!!
Nick.

Nick.Hi Kieth,
Good to hear you got your car. You must be over the moon. I'm glad we could be of service at the show.....despite me covering other cars in overrun!!!!! As Nick said, it is entirely up to you. Both are good meets, but as Nick said, the convoy to the Mid Essex meet is one not to miss. Come on over to the Feb meet on the 10th and you will see for yourself.
Hope to see you there.
Nick......Thanks mate. All that advertising you just can't pay for!
Cheers
Pete

We also generally have a run into the meeting.
As has been said the two dont clash, this was done on purpose when we reactivated the Herts and Beds Region last year.
We are even nicer than the Essex lot
and the food at the pub got a big thumbs up at Christmas. There is a meeting this weekend (topic posted on events and travel) and there may weell be a blast organised to come to the meet.
My advice, do both, choose which one you like and then still come to both each month!

Keith,
I think you're confusing 'Yellow Peril' (Pauline & Ray) with 'Valhalla' (Diane & Dave). It was D & D who had the yellow 350T. Still, we know who you mean.
I live near Bishops Stortford as well but never earn enough brownie points from Mrs T to go to two meeting on consecutive Sundays, so it's the Mid-Essex meet for me.
Although, Mal, I may venture north to Baldock, one of these Sundays

I'm a mid-Essex member, but decided to attend one of the Herts meets last autumn. I joined a convoy from South Mimms services and let me tell you now, the blast up to Baldock encompasses some superb, fast roads, particularly the A507 out of Buntingford. Complete contrast to the traffic-infested shite we have to put up with in Essex. As soon as this rain stops I'll be attending another one, too.

I must really enjoy it (when I can make it
) as it never seems that long
Or maybe it's the speed that Tegriffic leads

Yup - good advice. I should have made clear in my earlier post that I also attend both when available but not this month though as busy elsewhere for BOTH of the Sundays As has been said the two dont clash, this was done on purpose when we reactivated the Herts and Beds Region last year.

In the interests of editorial balance (!) be sure to join the Hets & Beds lot at the Knebworth car show around mid-summer. One of the best summer events and Mal put on a good show last year. Great to see so many Tivs lined up on the grass!
Hi Pyney....Keith....
Really pleased you have a TVR and can join us at the Meets.
You did in fact talk to me and Ray and have a gander at the Sag, but most of your time was spent chatting with Diane and Dave, a great couple who did sell their T350 recently.
They are most definitely NOT off the scene, but still attend Meets ....(shhhhh, I didn't say this but if the boat of their dreams doesn't make an appearance soon I think a Griff probably will
)
In fact they are very much due to be with us at the Suffolk Meet on Sunday if you would care to join us, show off the Tam and catch up with a chat you would be most welcome.
The Mid Essex Meet is well worth the run out. In fact it's better if the Meet is a little way away so that the TVR gets to stretch it's legs.....but it would be a quick blat up the A130 for you...no probs.
However, you are spoilt for choice Keith as the Herts and Beds region has a new RO who has really pumped up the volume so to speak and it is a great region too and on your doorstep!
The beauty of the Club is that you don't have to attend just one Meet and the ROs in the S.E. have all worked together so that the Meets are on different Sundays of the month.
Kent 1st
Mid Essex 2nd
Herts and Beds 3rd
Suffolk is also 3rd and would be a fair run out at times as they deal with Norfolk and sometimes the Meets go a little further up.
Sundays Meet this week for Suffolk is at Aldeburgh, fish and chips on the beach and a paddle in the freezing sea....a Suffolk ritual for the beginning of the New Year and confirmation that the Suffolk crew are the zaniest of the local lot!
But wherever you go you will be greeted warmly so see if you can make as many Meets as you can and by the Summer you'll know loads of people at all the car shows and events.
Look forward to meeting with you again...
....looking forward to seeing your Tam.
