Respray completed- Part 2 (Final chapter) Honest
Discussion
Picked up the Chimaera this afternoon from Ewelme Coachworks after its complete change of colour respray from Cureton Green to Halcyon Atlantis and fitment of clear Front/Side indicators which quite frankly, finish the job off nicely.
I can honestly say that Jon and his men have done a sterling job and i cant find any fault with their service or indeed their work and would recommend them to anyone who is/was thinking about a respray.
This might seem like iam singing their praises too much but if youve had work done by them then you will know what im saying.
The work itself is of an extremly high standard and its only when you look inside the bonnet, doors, underside etc etc that you realise that everything has been repainted and properly.
I have about 30 pixs of the complete stripdown to where the car looked rock bottom and worth about £50 to the finished ones which ive just taken where the car looks a million dollars.
The Colour itself is stunning......every picture that ive seen of the Halcyon Atlantis paint looks Blue, but i can asure you that in real life it turns to various shades of Green and Blue depending on the light.
The Wheels have been refurbished, the Targa top has been recovered and the interior was retrimmed a few months ago.
These photos are now in Chronological order.
Before the respray in its original Cureton Green(Paint was stone chipped and scratched)
At start of respray at Ewelme Coachworks
Didnt take long to get to this stage
Into the oven the first time!
Grey Undercoat
Bottom Coat
Laquer Coat
Finished Car- 3 Weeks Later
Complte with the Decals from the Factory
Obviously its much much nicer in the flesh
Well worth the money in my opinion

Nice. Good effort with the rear three-quarter shot: really captures the colour change!
I had my shabby old Tasmin...
resprayed from fire-engine red to Ferrari Rosso Pearl - what a difference! I had just got to the stage where if I didn't do something I was going to lose interest (always seemed to be working on the car and yet it never looked any better
)
Funny how it seemed like a nicer car afterwards...

Looks good, never was a fan of green, always looks a bit sort of boring. Noticed they left the lights in, including the headlight surrounds, when they painted it,is that usual?
Headlamp surrounds or cowlings were removed. The lamps can stay in. The factory doesn't paint behind the headlamp glass only silver paint. The rear lamp had its sealer removed before painting. After painting sealed and blacked out before the covers are fitted.
