Eyup, all.
Just wondered what other's perception or TVR chaps and chapesses was. You know how it is - BMW drivers get a bit of stick, etc. Are we popular?
I don't get much sh1t in that way. They just want a race now and again.

From some narrow minded people I have had the misfortune of conversing with on occasion, I have been informed that your average TVR owner is old

Funny that hehe

I own a TVR and a 7 series BMW so I must be clinically dead laugh

Never really had any negatives when in the TVR, most people ten to like them. Had one lady come up to me in a car park a year or so ago (she'd just parked up the same time as me) and say 'I know nothing about cars but just had to tell you yours sounds fantastic' - made me smile.
A few idiots in the pub who have imaginary mates who's TVRs always break down and have bits fall off them - but when pressed have no idea what model TVR or even the name of their new best mate.

g/f told me we are pretentious! Because we like showing off our cars...

No idea what that means. Assume it means sounds great, looks better.

Overpaid planet poisoner seems to be the concensus, but it's funny how they all drool and want a go in it...
Horse riders and cyclists seem to have the lowest opinion, what can I do. Go round with a bit of gas on and scare the shit out of them or let off and really scare the shit out of them. I reserve the latter for cyclists riding two abreast and nattering for miles on end in a supposed "race".

I used to back off (or even slow right down, idling engine) when I saw horse riders and they thanked me for it. Cyclists on the other hand, drop it down a gear so it is in the 4000-5000rpm range, floor it, past them and lift off to a barrage of bangs, pops and crackles. Well... it's safer to get past them quickly, right? thumbup

Yeah, what's that about, incidentally? I thought cyclists were supposed to ride in single file, or have I missed a rule change? And those hats look stupid.

A lot of people look at you and smile when they hear you've bought one, and make comments as if "You've bought a lemon". Drives me nuts!

I was at a corporate do at Silverstone driving Exiges. I had a TVR hat on and had a chat to one of the instructors. He then warned the other instructors loudly before we took to the cars - "Watch him - he drives a TVR - he'll be a nutter". Still not sure if I like that or not!

Thats not true, its perfectly legal for cyclists to ride 2 abreast where conditions permit, though most true cyclists will single up when a vehicle needs to get past.

Think there is a game to be played here. Who can send the most cyclists into a hedge just by drving past playing the engine noise...

My work colleagues think i'm on the fiddle because i sold a 2005 Mondeo TDCI and turned up with a black Chimaera.
Fact is that i still have £4000 change in the bank and they haven't got a clue what the Chimp is worth.

The only thing that winds ME up is people referring to my car as a 'Chimp' redface
