I work around the corner from Mr Mellings place, doesn't look like there's been any action for while.

Should be quite a thing....

AMG makes a piffling 600+bhp and 700+lb-ft from a turbocharged 6.0 V12.

Melling can make 1200bhp and 880lb-ft from turbocharged 6.0 V10. his web site alleges

ing genius that is. yes

I emailed about it last week and had no reply so far. Says a lot I'd suggest.

Wikipedia says: The car underwent tests in California, the biggest market being in the United States, but the car is expected to sell all over the world. Melling is quoted to have said: "A market survey revealed the Hellcat would look best in silver, so you can have it any colour - as long as it is silver."
At the launch Melling said: “The Hellcat is the climax of my career - the car I've been working towards it all my life.”

Got to love Melling's quotes. In Autosport a couple of weeks ago they ran a feature about unraced racing engines. Naturally, no such feature would be complete without a contribution from MCD. The engine was designated "007" which might suggest his 7th F1 engine... but no, it was called that because his wife likes Sean Connery. Allegedly the engine in question had run in a real F1 car. Whose? "Confidential".

Personally I think it looks better in the dark.

The utter arrogance to say such a thing . . . Clearly is a proof of the mans incapable marketing view.

Not only is silver utterly boring, it also cuts of the buyers opportunity to make a personal statement with the car.

Think Model T.

But then: it's all dreams . . . Dream on Al.
