Which Oil Filter
Discussion
It's a Unipart ERR13??
It should be marked on the existing filter if it is the correct type. Apparently, there are different lengths so check the numbers and then check the filter dimensions before starting the job.
Edited to add, you will need at least 6 litres of oil (probably nearer 7). You also need to check that you have a spanner large enough to remove the sump plug (they're a bit big) and new sump plug washer (they don't sell any large enough at Halfords) as the washer gets a bit mangled if you are a bit ham fisted like me.
You can try to remove the filter with a removal tool but undoubtably it will just destroy the filter and you will end up using a screwdriver through the side to remove the remains. Access to the filter is made a tad more difficult thanks to a chassis cross-member when accessing from underneath. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW ABOUT THE OIL PUMP PRIMING PROBLEM - it's in the bible!
Also, regard the consistency of Mobil 1 0W-40 as it comes out of the sump drain hole and cross reference with several engine builders descrption of it being as watery as pi$$. Fill up with good quality 15W-50 or 15W-60.
10 points if you manage to remove the sump plug without dropping it in a bowl of used engine oil.

Handy tip, start with an empty bowl
But it's only empty for about a microsecond before 6 litres of dirty black gunk pours out at an alarming rate of knots, covering the ejected sump plug and most of your forearm in oil!IPAddis said:

What size sump plug washers will I need?
The same size as the one that's on there at the moment![]()
Don't know off the top of my head, best to ask for one from a Landie dealer when buying the oil filter.
I lost my sump plug in Italy (and all of the oil!) and the mechanic back at the garage used the blanking plug from a central heating radiator, so go and measure the one in your lounge!
