Just received a new sender for the Tam,which I am about to fit.
A bit confused as the connecter from the new sender is different to the original, unless I am looking in the wrong place. So before I pull all the carpet out a couple of questions:
Are there 2 different types of sender?
Does the sender wires come out of the tank through the right hand side access plate, if so they are different. If not where do they come out of the tank?
Hopes this makes sense, but I don't want to unstick all the carpet unless I have to.

What is wrong with the old sender? My gauge would not drop, and i was obviously using fuel.
I unbolted the inspection cover on the top right hand side of the tank, about 8 to 10 bolts IIRC? And moved the float with a metal coat hanger, i then refitted and tested, and hey presto gauge working again and 18 months later no further problems
