Hi

I literally picked up my T350C today and have just realised on getting home that i have been the victim of a hit and run while my car was parked in a restaurant.

It looks to be only a slight knock but the fibre glass is cracked underneath right under the reg plate and has now made it was up towards the reg.

I'm absolutely gutted but more concerned right now on the cost of repairing this. I have my T350 in a rare Halcyon Atlantic Blue colour so am petrified of a potential big bill.

Anyone got any advice? Can i still drive it or wil that make it a lot worse? Any ideas on potential cost?

Appreciate all who can help

Cheers

That's a bummer - did the restaurant car park have camera surveillance by any chance? Can't help with your specific questions but expect that others will give you an opinion if you post a picture. Hope you get back the TVR grin soon.

Why worry , its grp , much easier to fix than tin , get 3 quotes from well known grp experienced bodyshops , I damaged my seac spoiler on my car ramp last year !! , initially annoying but , it was well sorted in 2 days by a local setup , no worries , it happens ! Not big notes either , enjoy your fantastic tiv .

Thanks a lot for the above

I live out Essex way so not sure if you can recommend any places to get it fixed?

I assume I am best sorting this asap given that fibre glass seems to crack easily further once you have a small crack there?

Was hoping to enjoy the good weather today you see...

Cani perhaps tape it up for now? Will that make it worse?

Thanks again for responses

I can recommend Tom Horsburgh. Whilst he's not exactly on your doorstep, he does excellent work.

Damage to this area of the car is unlikely to be caused by a hit and run but by driving into kerbs while in a carpark ( very easy to do as I know ). There is a week join in the bodywork here on a T350 which could be bonded from the inside then you could raise the stonechip layer slighly higher which would be a very cheap repair to an area that could easily be damaged again , David

I did unfortunately hit a kerb as well but there is damage (scuff marks) on the bumper but i've obviously made it worse by doing that (didn't realise how low it was....seems i'm not alone!)

I think i'll get s fibre glass repair kit from halfords this morning and temporary fix the inside of the bumper right by where the crack is. Should least stop any spreading for now and def a lot cheaper than i first imagined.

Will then fix properly at a later date (i.e after i have had it more than 5 mins!! to enjoy the good weather today)

thanks to everyone - any further tips are greatly recieved.

Am loving the tvr by the way...what a car!

Spot on Dave, i hit our T350c there a couple of times, and yes agree that there is some sort of weak joint there, I soon fixed mine with 8 layers of 600 grm per square meter glass, must have been nearly half in thick after i had finished. Then moved the black underseal line up an inch........Sorted
