see you there Simon - well look a right pair in our `new money' coloured TVR's as Jonathan used to put it @ TMS in the late 1990's
Of course, the lurid ones are faster

Of course it does! But I don't use capitals.
The problem is more that the meetings are so popular, you can get stuck in the car park for hours. And the Motogp is on at four pm on Sunday.
With the exception of Paulines' lot, I suspect most regions would struggle to find a pub with a big enough car park for the numbers that turn up, together with our guests from South Yorks and West Midlands and the rest that come.
Still, better that than an empty venue.

Mate! I don't think it's live until 20:00 (it's a night race at 23:00 in Qatar)...but don't take my word for it & miss it!!
There must be a better venue though in the whole of the East Midlands! (were you a member when we used to meet in the Haven?)

Yeap, as car parks go the Haven was probably the best, The Old Ship wasn't bad but could be a bit split between the 2 sides of the road, the drive for me is part of it and the latest place is a dull drive and teamed with the car park issues is probably the reason I've not been to as many as I used too.I know the owners are TVR people but the location could be better.
I guess the big issues is....can you find somewhere better, stop moaning and get out trying a few pubs and make the suggestion to John.

It's not actually as easy as it sounds, finding a pub central to the region, large car park, quiet on a Sunday that doesn't mind a load of car bores turning up once a month putting his locals noses out of joint and spending peanuts as they are all driving.

The car park can get a little 'snug' on sunny day meetings. I usually arrive early and leave late, but then I'm sad
As mentioned there are plenty of places to park on the roads surrounding the pub.
Any suggestions on good pubs would I'm sure be welcomed if only for a summer meeting.
Still, point noted and I'll pass it on to John (unless you're coming and want to your self
)
